Welcome to the Grand Opening of Hey, It’s Free! It’s been four months in the making, but everything is now up and ready to go. You may be interested in the free DVD I speak of in the title of this, but before I get to this, allow me to explain exactly what this site is all about. During the summer of 2004, a company called Gratis opened up a website called Free iPods.com that promised it’s users a way to earn free iPods. Of course, many people were skeptical, as well they should have been. But soon reports began to leak out that the website was in fact legit. Wired Magazine did an article proclaiming their genuineness and since then, NBC, CNN, and a host of other news agencies have also run stories on the site. People on the net began posting their success stories and actual pictures of the box and iPod that they received for free!
Encouraged by the huge success of Free iPods.com, Gratis opened other websites allowing users to obtain free flatscreen monitors, digital cameras, mini macs, and even full desktop computers. Other companies, hoping to cash in on what was being called the “freebie craze” began making replica websites and by 2005, there were over 200 freebie sites on the net!
So is this what Hey, It’s Free is planning on doing? Giving away free iPods? Well, not exactly. I decided to create this site to help guide my friends and family through the process because after a full year, I still encounter countless people every day who feel it’s all just a scam. I can personally attest to it being legit, because as I type this, I’m listening to the Gladiator Soundtrack on my iPod which was sent to me for free from Gratis =) So, I decided to draw from my personal experience and expertise and make a site for those people out there who don’t understand the freebie process or feel as if there’s no way they’ll be able to obtain something for free!
On Hey, It’s Free, you’ll find information that I’ve gathered over the past year on the freebie craze, such as what offers are legitimate versus which ones are scams, which trials are excellent to try versus which ones you need to stay away from, and even a full walkthrough of the process which takes you from start to finish! There’s a FAQ section that explains all the terms you’ll hear in the freebie craze and how these companies actually make money by giving away free products. And if your questions still aren’t answered or you want to discuss the craze or this site further, you can check out the community forums I’ve set up!
But enough about Hey, It’s Free, let’s get to the free DVD! In an effort to show you just how easy it is to get free stuff on the Internet, I’m going to walk you through the short and easy process of getting a free DVD! You’ll first want to go to I Want Free Gifts.com and make a free account on the left hand side of the site. You might want to consider opening up a free e-mail account with Yahoo or Hotmail and using that e-mail address for all your freebie offers so that your personal e-mail doesn’t receive any spam, but that’s up to you. Once you’ve made your free account, select “Free DVD” on the bottom of the page and pick which DVD you want. You’ll then be given a list of offers to complete in exchange for your DVD and you’ll want to select the E-Bay offer near the top since it’s both easy and free. You’ll be taken to E-Bay’s website where it will ask you to create a free E-Bay account. Make an account and once you are finished, all you have to do is go and bid on any auction on E-Bay. Remember, you don’t have to win or even come close to winning, all you have to do is bid! I personally bid $1.00 on a new TV on E-Bay, which is an offer I knew wouldn’t win because who would sell a new TV for only a $1!
Once you’ve done that, it will take about 2 or 3 days for I Want Free Gifts to receive notice that you’ve completed the E-Bay offer. So, after a few days, log back into your I Want Free Gifts account and you’ll notice it says you’ve completed an offer! Click the button that says claim gift, type in you shipping info, and viola! In a few days a brand spanking new DVD will arrive in the mail!
See what I mean about how easy it is to get free stuff? So take a look around here on Hey, It’s Free and get started on earning your very own free iPod, flatscreen, or even computer! Enjoy your stay and be sure to tell your friends!
