Free NASCAR Earplugs
My family has a reputation for being sound sleepers. Honestly, it takes being shaken almost violently for me to wake. When I was 11, we installed a home security system and since we knew we were sound sleepers, we had the company install a bullhorn behind the walls of each of our bedrooms. I didn’t really know what to expect, so I used something similar to these free NASCAR earplugs every night just in case the thing went off. Two years later, somebody tried to break into our house and let’s be honest here. I could have welded those plugs into my ears and I still would have heard that freaking alarm without any trouble at all. In fact, when it’s quiet, to this day I can still hear that piercing noise ringing in my head.

Yeah, a few weeks later they caught him. He’d been breaking into houses throughout the neighborhood and they finally caught him stealing building supplies from a worksite down the road.
