Free Good Life Recipe Dog Food

I’m starting to think that once I give my dog this free Good Life Recipe dog food, (ed: they’ve since changed the offer to a $1 off coupon) she’ll actually officially have “The Good Life.” She sleeps all day by the window with the sun to keep her warm, at night she sleeps in the bed next to me to keep me warm, and in between she eats, drinks, and runs around in the back yard. Where can I sign up for a life like this?!

Um… no. Sorry, I received a coupon for the good life recipe food, so i went out a picked up a pack of it with the coupon then promptly through it away. This stuff is JAM-PACKED with fillers. The number one ingredient is Ground corn, A FILLER.

At 54 years of age, I have raised dogs and cats completely on Purina products with no problems and through many happy years. Only lately have I been
re-educating myself with regard to pet nutrition and their needs. What seems to sum up so clearly in my mind is this “If you wouldn’t eat it then they should not eat either.” Reading the ingredients is so important; corn, by-products, crappy fillers with not much good that I would put in my own mouth.

So, now I have switched after all these years to what I think after exhaustive research is one of the best if not “The” best dog/cat food around. I’ve been a long time customer of Dr. Foster and Smith products and feel I am buying something I can feel safe and comfortable knowing my pets are safe and comfortable too! drsfostersmith.com tell them Linda Butz sent you.

I can understand the not wanting fillers in the food, But I have a question for everyone.
Do You all eat corn ?

  5. #5 Deb |

Emily, why didn’t you read the ingredients list first before buying the dog food and throwing your money in the trash? Most observant people do that.

I eat corn. It’s one of my favorite veggies. I recently switched my dog to this brand of dog food and he is a happy camper! He didn’t have the usual tummy upset like with other brands I have tried him on. Unless this product is put on a recall list, my dog will continue to eat it and it makes him very happy.

Looks like Dr. Foster and Smith products have some products recalled too. Flint River Ranch products.

    My recommendation.

As long as I can remember I’ve always have had a dogs, cats and few other animals. I was always bring home strays and stil do. Mom being a single mom would by what ever on sale to feed the anmials. Mostly Parina produts and even today I was still fedding my pets on Parina that is until Goodlife Recipe. My five dogs and five cats love it. The cats don’t puke as many hairballs. The chew their food of swooling it hole or use the kitty box as mutch and the dogs don’t to go out a lot unless they just want to lay in the sun. They love it so much and their asorbing so many essential nutrients their getting over weight. As they waste not want not. I believe Goodlife Recipe is just as good it not better then the most expenvise pet food out and you didn’t see it on the pet food recall list.I have a book writen by Betsy Breviz, D.V.M called Hound Health and use it as my bible for anything that may be happing to my dogs. I highly recommend it to any good dog owner. I paid less than $5.00 for it brand new on Amazon.

I have recently switched my 2 dogs to this food after my friend gave me a free 15lb bag. My Boxer has always had problems with gas and since switching her to this food this problem has greatly decreased. Both my dogs (A Boxer and a Pomeranian) seem to love it and are both doing great on it.

I adopted a male boxer from the SPCA he was on a diet of the the good life recipe dog food, and I was told not to change foods because of gas and digestive problems.I didnt think it would make much difference so when my grocer didnt have it ,I bought another brand and had a downstairs full of loose stools and gas I couldnt believe,so I switched back and no problems now!

I think the goodlofe recipe is full of lies, fillers, corn, and crap!! The commercial is cute, but the stuff thats mixed in the food doesnt seem so tasty. I hope their business gets sued for false advertisement and has to close down!! Whatever you do do not feed your dog or cat any of these products!! even if they like the food!this stuff will give your animal a shorter life because the food doesn’t agree with your animal’s digestive system! I reccomend feeding your animal Nutro or Dr.Foster and Smith.

I have a daughter that has a French Mastiff. She had severe staff infections (one right after another) and extreme allergies. My daughter had a horrible time finding a food that agreed with her and did not cause her to vomit the food directly after eating it. She was told she’d have to put this dog on a hamburger/rice diet which became very expensive and tiresome to prepare. She tried the dog food “The Goodlife” in chicken flavor and this dog is doing great! She has no signs of digetive issues, no vomitting, no allergy signs whatsoever. I have now started my dog on it and have had my cat on the cat food for a while. My cat is happy and has a beautiful coat. I don’t see why everybody fusses over corn. If the animal is healthy, and that is shown by it’s appearence and action, isn’t that what matters?

We have 2 dogs: 1 dalmation who is just 2 years old and 1 mix breed that is 8 years old. The 8 year old was always a very picky eater. We tried almost every dog food there was for him, everyone would always say try that BilJak that is the best dog food you can get, let me tell you that dog food made not 1 but both of our dogs sick. The older one was vomiting from it and everything. We stopped that right away, then we decided to give a try to this dog food called Good Life, both dogs love it. They are doing great since then no more getting sick or not eating. They are doing so good that we even started are 2 cats on the Good Life cat food. They too are doing much better, all of our pets are finally putting on weight and love to come to the food dish when it’s timne to eat.

i have a one year old boxer and he was having a hard time gaining weight. we would feed him up to seven cups of dog food a day and people would still comment on how skinny he was. i felt like people thought we were abusing him by not feeding him but we were. so we switched from purina puppy chow to the food life recipe and he started gaining weight instantly. plus he loves it so if its good enough for him its good enought for us.

Last December, I adopted a Shih Tzu. Apparently, he has allergies to the Iams food I was giving him. He would scratch and rub his face until he whined. My other dogs don’t have a problem with the can and hard food, but this one does. I have tried Purina One for Sensitive Systems and Benefitful. At first, he wasn’t scratching as much, but after a week, it came back. I just recently bought a bag of The GoodLife Recipe, and so far so good!

Yes… I eat corn… but I’m not a carnivore. And even then, corn tends to make me feel sick to my stomach. I want a dog food that not only makes my dogs excited to eat it, but helps to maintain their health, and is more biologically suitable. Here, educate yourselves. What I find most annoying about this food is the fact that they have had a class action lawsuit about deceptive advertising. http://hubpages.com/hub/The_Goodlife_Recipe_Dog_Food Some of the ingredients are well-known to cause allergies and increase the risk of diseases, or increase their symptoms. If your dog/cat is doing well on this food, then be grateful, but I do have to wonder how many more years you’d have on something better.

I just want to say that I love the goodlife dog and cat food I tried so many cat foods from expensive to cheap and my cats threw up and had licked himself raw due too some allergy until I started him on goodlife his hair grew in and a beautiful coat and no throwing up with hair balls and as for my dogs they love it and less potty trips

Corn, soy, and wheat is a common allergen in dogs. I wouldn’t (and don’t) buy any dog food with this in it.

  25. #25 Lyn |

I have a two year old boxer, who has had allergies, etc and have him on my own recipe for dog food - a rice, turkey and veggie mix with oats and eggs for good measure, but he wasn’t putting on weight - Started giving him the Good Life just once a day. He loves it and is putting on weight and no hives! A problem had with other healthy dog foods. Yeah! Find the Good Life doesn’t smell like other dog foods, his stool is good and not as much tooting - an issue for boxers. Love the stuff and would recommend. Hey, they lie about everything, have to find what works. How do you know the healthy stuff doesn’t use the bad things too!!?? And don’t use Eukanuba/Iams - had two dogs come down with cancer 9 yrs ago and die quickly before knew about the dog food scams - a globular cancer with deformities and masses just under the skin. Two different types of dogs but one thing in common - the dog food! DUH!

i had tried just about every food out there, this one was next on the list. my puppy has had bad bad gas since birth and we have tried everything. this is the only thing that has worked. as to the corn issue vegtables are good for animals. even with the most expensive brands he ate his vegtables off of my plate(wheter i let him or he took them). now he has the best of both worlds

  27. #27 Sue |

Good Life is the best I have found. There are no additives or preservatives. SO No Red 40 food dye or dyes of any kind (Yellow, Blue, etc.) (which the vet told me to keep away from especially the Red) Dyes cause problems so no dye for my dog. Check out your regular Purina and all the others most have dyes in them including the treats. My dog won’t eat any thing other than Good Life Chicken Dog Food. And loves their treats.

  28. #28 Angela |

I have a very picky 7 year old Chihuahua. He will eat only 3 kinds of treats, and I was having to prepare a recipe of mashed yams, green beans, carrots, molasses and vitamin powders and mixing it with dry food and fresh meat just to get him to eat regular food. I had a Good Life coupon, so I bought a bag, thinking the dry food wouldn’t matter much since all the other stuff was being added to it. When I put the dry food in his bowl, with nothing else, he immediately stared to eat it. One piece at a time, and dropping the red meat shaped pieces on the living room carpet and leaving them in a pile. He still won’t eat those, and leaves me the collection to pick up, but he loves the rest of the mix! I don’t have to prepare any “people” food for him anymore, and he is the picture of perfect health. I love this product, and my vet is pleased as well.
