I’ve got a serious morning ritual. No joke. My fiancée is out the door at 7am, so I’m up with her around 6am or so, I make her lunch for the day, then after kissing her goodbye and telling her to have a good day at work, it’s time for me to cozy up with my DVR and watch the shows that I’ve recorded from the night before. No, not sitcoms. We’re talking Countdown with Keith Olberman, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report. Except for Friday mornings, when I also have The Showbiz Show with David Spade and Scrubs to watch as well.

But with each and every morning, I have a bowl of cereal and a banana. Why? Because I can and because they’re both easy foods. And they fill me up and get me started for the day. So after seeing the daily news as a complete cynic, I can face the world full on knowing that I’ve had my daily nutrients, my morning vitamins as well, and my reality of the situation to crack however many jokes that might need be to cross my situation.

You can only imagine my elation this morning after finishing my bowl of Kashi Healthy Heart and watching last nights Scrubs to sign online and find a free sample of Kashi’s Go-Lean Crunch up for grabs. Oh yes. Cereal will be mine.
