I’ll be working on fully configuring this new theme for the rest of the day, so please bear with me if the site looks a bit messed up for a little while!

As you can see, I’ve “created” a new theme for HIF and by “created” I mean “took a default template I found and hacked it up far beyond what it was probably meant to handle.” It’s not that I don’t like this new look, it’s just that I was beginning to absolutely hate the old layout. I try and change the looks of all my websites at least once a year and since the old one had been up for about 14 months, it was time for a chance. Some of the major changes include adding a third column to the site and making the comments compatible with Gravatars.

I’ve still got some tweaking to do on the design though. I need to pick a different shade of green for the post titles. And I need to write up some instructions on how people can sign up for the Gravatars as well as fix the comment boxes on the submit page. But I’ve been working on this for a few days now, so I figured it was time to upload it now, faults and all.

This is actually going to just be a temporary design, though. I had wanted to get a professional design created sometime soon, but the two companies I contacted both had huge backlogs they needed to tend to before they could get to me. So, I’m sitting on their waiting list and hoping to have something new and awesome created by the end of the summer.
