Free Polyphonic Ringtone from OptiFree

Goob’s right the other day when he called me the music man. Yeah, not only do I overanalyze my music, I’m such a dork that I make my own custom mp3 ringtones for my phone. Don’t believe me? How many people can say that their ringtone is the first chorus from The Weakerthan’s “Our Retired Explorer (Dines With Michel Foucault in Paris, 1961).” And if you’re a HIF reader and you actually know the song? You might be my new best friend over on the forums.

Needless to say, amidst my “Fire Escape” by Fastball, “Hush” by Angie Aparo, “On Her Way” by Athenaeum, and “Mr. Jones” by the Counting Crows (Hey, I had to actually name one song that I have as a ringtone that you folks might know), I’ll never complain about a free ringtone. And even though this free ringtone from OptiFree Contact Solution is only a polyphonic tone and not the rich mp3 style we all love, its still a free ringtone. There are quite a few songs and tones to choose from, and a bit of selection for everyone, I’d say. Offer is valid till the end of the year and their site says only good on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint, but if you have Verizon or Alltell or another service, doesn’t hurt to try, I guess? And of course, standard text messaging and data transfer rates apply, but if it ends up being less than 99 cents for both of them for you, well then you’re doing good and still making out ahead on this bargain.

Me? I chose the Ghostbusters theme song. Now everytime I get a text message or a voicemail, I’ll be looking for Slimer.

Wait, my phone’s ringing… Hmm, looks like it’s Spengler. I’d better run…
