$5 Kohl’s Gift Card

I’d never shopped at a Kohl’s until I moved to Virginia, but it certainly came in handy every time I realized I’d lost my last pair of kahkis or needed another belt or whatnot. Some of you might be wondering how you can lose pairs of pants, but trust me, I’m capable of doing such a thing. Looks like my next missplaced clothing item won’t cost me as much to replace it since I just found this free $5 Kohl’s gift card plus another 10% any online purchase. Woo hoo for deals!

Free Caress Brazilian Body Wash

The full name of this freebie is actually Caress Brazilian Exotic Oil Infusions Body Wash. Seriously. Somebody in a suit in a random office somewhere thought that would be a good name for a product. Call me crazy, but when I see the words “Brazilian,” “Exotic,” and “Oil” together in a sentence, I think of something completely other than soap.

March Contest Winner

So now that Kansas pulled off an awesome victory last night, it’s time to take a look at the standing and see who won the HIF March Contest. I’m happy to say that with a score of 145, the winner is…

CoffinDweller!

Congrats to the sweller of coffins and thanks to everybody out there who participated. I’ll be doing this every March, so if you didn’t get in on the action this time around be sure to next year!

Free 8oz cup of Starbucks new Pikes Place Roast

Mornin’ folks… Wow, its been a while since I’ve posted. Or so it feels to me. You could probably track it back a week or two, I think. Anyways, with finals coming up pretty fast for me, I’ve been running around like crazy, finding anything I can with caffeine in it. Seriously. I just tried the Aquafina Alive Energize Water last night to no avail… Of course, after two days of bad energy drink backlash two weeks back, I’m still on the stuff like white on rice…

So when I opened up my Newzie feedreader this morning and found that Starbucks is giving away a free 8oz cup of their new Pikes Place Roast right on MSNBC, well, I had to come here and post it. And then, it got even better because I was beaten. Apparently in today’s USA Today (4/8/2008), there’s a card to get free tall cup of this same roast every wednesday from now through May 28th. Wowohwow! I’ll have enough caffeine soon enough, I’d imagine! :D

Free Glow Pen

EDIT: Xerox sent me a nice letter and asked that I take this offer down, so it’s dead now folks.

I’m a sucker for office supplies. Just sitting at a desk stocked with pens and paper and envelopes and everything else makes me feel like I’m getting work done, even if I’m just playing Minesweeper. So adding a free glow pen to this clutter can only increase my productivity by, say, a trillion percent according to my calculations.

Be sure you check the box that says you only want the glow pen and not a bunch of Xerox information, because otherwise I have a feeling you’ll get a few e-mails and calls asking when you’re looking to purchase your next $5000 coping machine. I don’t know about you, but that’s just a little out of my price range…

Three Free Greeting Cards

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been walking out the door to go to a party or event only to realize you don’t have a greeting card on hand. So you rush to the store, pick out the first semi-decent looking card you see, scribble your name on it, and then realize later that it’s not even the right type of card. For the record, I had both of my arms up in the air just now. At the last wedding I went to, I gave the bride and groom a card that read “Get well soon, my favorite grandson!”

Oops.

Hopefully this doesn’t happen too much in the future though, as I just ordered three free greeting cards that were posted to the forums this weekend. Hooray for a little less social embarrassment in my life!

Free Sweat Block Deodorant

EDIT: Based on the comments, I’m going to say this is no longer available.

It’s no great secret that I’m a horribly speller. Ok, maybe it was a secret, but it’s not anymore. If it wasn’t for my computer’s automatic spellcheck fixing my every mistake just as fast as I can make them, then you’d be reading a post that had errorrs liek thsi. To take this little problem of mine one step further, I often misread things and don’t realize my mistake because of my crappy spelling skills.

So it should come as no shock that I initially read this free Sweat Block deodorant offer as a free sweet block deodorant. And despite that not even making sense, I sat here trying to figure out how block my sugar intake would help me smell better. Then I finally realized that I was an idiot and came here to post this freebie.

Free ACTIV-FLEX Cohesive Tape

When I say I take precautionary measures regarding my health, I’m not kidding. If I get a paper cut, I put my entire hand in a cast to avoid any future cuts. In fact, I’m in a full body cast right now because I found a bruise on my thigh and I have no idea how it got there. Maybe I’m going a little overboard, who knows. Something like this free ACTIV-FLEX cohesive tape might be more along the lines of what I need.

Free MLB Extra Innings

I’m not sure anybody out there appreciates how freaking excited I am right now. Saying I’m a baseball nut would be the understatement of the century, so between the premiere of Battlestar Galactica tomorrow night (and the marathon SciFi is running today) and the free MLB Extra Innings that Comcast and DirecTV are offering until April 6th, I doubt I’ll leave this couch for the next 100 hours. There’s over 11 games on TV today alone! I’m so giddy, I don’t even know what the type right now.

I had trouble finding the channels, but if you’re using Comcast like me, they’re most likely in the 770-790 range. I didn’t even know they had channels that high. I’d only made it up to the 600s where all the adult programming…I mean…um, documentary videos are located. Phew, that was a close one!

Free Goldbond Lotion

The only thing I know about Goldbond is that during my childhood, they made some of the worst commercials ever and then subsequently ran them over and over and oooooover. I remember having a fairly irrational hatred of Goldbond as kid, which is quite ironic now that I fully expect to be using the free Goldbond lotion that Wal-Mart sends my way soon.

Get in on this quick, though, because Wal-Mart offers have a history of dieing faster than fruitflies.

Free Inkjet Refills at Walgreens

My dad and I used to always joke about how crazy it was that on every corner, you’d see a Walgreens right next to a Rite Aid with a CVS across from them. Then at the very next block, there’s another Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS! Talk about market saturation. But now I’m happy that I have a Walgreens within walking distance, because I can get some free printer ink tomorrow!

FREE inkjet cartridge refills at Walgreens on 4/2/08. ONE DAY ONLY! They don’t refill any epson or canon cartridges, but they do fill a good number of lexmark, hp and dell. Call your local Walgreens to find out if they fill your cartridge. You get 1 color OR black free refill per person so if you need two cartridges filled, bring a friend or you have to pay for the second one. Also, this deal is VERY popular, so don’t go in on free day thinking you’ll get your cartridge back soon. It’s usually returned to you later that day, even up to 24 hours-3+ days for busier stores.

So go grab some free printer ink, but make sure you call first because I don’t want anybody wasting a trip if their local store isn’t participating!

Free Gillette Face & Body Wash

EDIT 3: Back to the graveyard for this one!
EDIT 2: Like an awesome zombie, this freebie has risen from the dead for a short while!
EDIT 1: Well, that went quick. Sorry guys, but it’s dead now.

Call me crazy, but I’m of the belief that shampoo and soap should always be in separate bottles. All of these “manly” body washes that claim to be shampoo as well makes me a bit leery. Either that stuff is just regular shampoo that they’ve tricked me into washing my body with or it’s normal soap and I’m rubbing it all in my hair. And if that’s the case, why not just use a bar of soap to wash your hair? And why the heck do I spend a minimum of 20 minutes thinking about these types of things before realizing I’ve probably got better things to do?

You know, like link to the free Gillette face & body wash offer over on Wal-Mart’s page. There, my job is done, now I can get back to pondering the complexities that is washing one’s body!

Free Dove Go Fresh Deodorant

No longer available!

The freebie page and even the bottle for this free Dove Go Fresh deodorant include a bunch of images of grapefruits, which made me wonder: is a grapefruit really the best fruit to use as a logo for a deodorant? I don’t know about you, but grapefruits are kinda sticky, like apples and oranges. That’s the last thing I want my underarms to be during the middle of the day. They could have gone with a banana, but those are kinda slimy when you get right down to it. Grapes? Too small for the bottle to show up well probably.

Hmmm…you know what, on second thought, why the heck does a deodorant have to associate itself with a fruit anyways?
