Freebies and free stuff

Seeing as how the next batch of HIF stickers are taking forever to arrive, how about you get this free One Person, One Vote bumper sticker to tide you over?

I’ll clarify that I have no idea what their political views or affiliations are though. For all I know, this is just a front for the American Robot Party, a shadowy organization who wants to put a robot in the White House. This cannot happen, people. Just think, one small line of code and he could be programmed to start a nuclear war. You can fight the good fight though and help drain their resources by requesting the free sticker!

Yeah, I really don’t know what I’m talking about. I probably shouldn’t start drinking at 9 in the morning.

These free Always Infinity products aren’t even for sale yet, but Proctor & Gamble are sending out a bunch of these ahead of time. I plan on using mine as an impromptu hat.

A while back I wrote about Blingo, a website where you could win prizes just for using their search engine like you would Google. I know a bunch of people signed up and won some small prizes, but to be completely honest, Blingo stinks now. A while back they mixed in paid ads with the legit search results, so it was hard and confusing to find what you were looking for.

But don’t feel too bad, because a new site called Winzy is out and it’s just like the Blingo of yore. Easy to use, powered by Google, and random prizes are given out every day. Except, Winzy goes a step further – they not only hand out random prizes when you search, but they also give out points for every search you make. These are then entered into the monthly drawings for a whole host of large prizes. Thus the more searches you make, the more points you earn, giving you a higher chance of winning a prize. You can earn points on up to 50 searches per day, which is way more than Blingo’s 10 search limit per day.

So far I’ve only won a $5 Amazon giftcard, but that’s $5 more than I’ve ever won using Google.

There are also a few “tricks” for earning more points than usual. For instance, if you set Winzy to your browser’s home page, you automatically are upgraded to Gold Status, which gives you two points per search instead of one. However, you can then switch your home page back to whatever it previously was and Winzy will still keep you on Gold Status Also, if you have a website or a blog, you can put a Winzy badge on your site and earn points for every person who comes to your site, even if they don’t click on the link and sign up with Winzy.

Who knows how long Winzy will stay a legit site, but as long as they are there’s always ample opportunity to win some prizes. It’s what us Hiffers do best – take advantage of free stuff!

One of the celebrity shows that I watch, I think it was Chelsea Lately, was talking about how Jessica Simpson keeps a diary with a 4-color pen. I wish I remember the punch line of the joke, but its probably better that I don’t…

But I guess once we get our free 4-color pens in the mail, we can write our own punchline to that joke, huh?

Just as long as Chris Crocker doesn’t have a brother who’s a Jessica Simpson fan…

I posted these free Pledge Multi-Surface wipes a while back and the offer died pretty quickly. Well they’re back and Wal Mart is giving them away, so you know they’re going to die quickly again!

I really love Wal Mart freebies though. We rag on them for dieing so fast, but they are without a doubt the best company when it comes to giving away freebies. I know technically they’re giving away other company’s samples, but whatever. Their freebies come within days, not weeks, and they’re always packaged well. My only complaint is they don’t give away free candy.

Ok, you got me, I just want some candy right now. I don’t have a sweet tooth, I have a full set of sweet teeth.

If you don’t mind watching a one-minute video, you can get 20 free pieces of Nicorette gum.Just make sure you don’t accidentally get this confused with your normal gum. My dad once had these and I’m not a smoker, so it was a bit of a shock when I ate some garlic bread one afternoon and borrowed a piece of gum to get the flavor out of my mouth. If folks didn’t know by now, when it comes to music, I seem to be the person to turn to. Seriously. Whenever Goob finds anything about music, I seem to find another message in my inbox on the forums. Maybe its because of the fact that I’m a rockstar in training (in my dreams), or maybe its because I have over 13,000 songs in my iTunes.

All of that aside, about a year and a half ago I posted a free download of a band called Kill the Alarm. The band themselves were giving away their CD. And then a few months later, they were giving away a free download of a complete live show. And now? They’re giving away a copy of their debut album all over again, all remastered and new sounding. You just sign up on their mailing list and they send you a link to download their album, Fire Away. Now any band that gives away their music for free? You’d better believe that they’ve got my vote for being awesome.

You don’t need to have a baby to get some baby shampoo anymore. Its sorta like when you get those special mailings in the brown paper envelopes? Maybe I’m the only one who gets those?

Or, if not, I wonder if this free sample of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Shampoo comes in an envelope like that or if my mail person will stare at me and want to see baby pictures. I should just show them a picture of one of my cats then.

From store open till 10:30am on today, September 18th, Smoothie King is giving away free 20oz coffee smoothies today. Now how cool is that? Forget shelling out a buck plus inflation costs for a coffee at a 7/11 or McD’s, no sirree. Just find a Smoothie King near you and have a mini breakfast and rock it. I mean, hey, it’s Thursday, so we could all use a boost.

And me? There’s a Smoothie King just down the road from my work. Seeing I stayed up late so I could have this posted when everyone woke up? Well, lets just say that its going to contribute to me having a good morning, that’s all I can say…

Maybe its the fact that they’re getting a high protein cat food and my wife and I are both gone all day, maybe its the cooler weather, or maybe they’re just being cats. I’m not sure what a free laptop sleeve is, but it’s almost taunting me to make a “can I get a free laptop pants and hat” joke. Don’t worry, I’ll bite my tongue and just keep moving. It’s the better option for everybody, I promise.

Instead, I’ll rant against the stupid CAPTCH on this freebie. Did it take anybody else five tries to get it right? I sat here for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out if I was staring at an “i” or a “1″ or maybe an “l”. Pretty soon we’re going to need a PhD just to figure these darn things out.

I assume this free fruit & granola is going to come in snack bar form, but what do I know? Maybe it’ll come in a giant cone. You know what would be cool? If it come in the shape of a DNA model, all spirally and twirly. I’d dare anybody to not have an enjoyable time eating that.

What a perfect freebie to post right after the free jelly beans. It’s almost as if Wal Mart knew that freebie fans from coast to coast would need to stave off the onrush of cavities with some free Crest Whitening Expressions toothpaste.

I’ve always been a Jelly Belly fan, but these free Gimbal jelly beans might convince me to switch allegiance. I absolutely love jelly beans. Just last week I bought a 2-pound bag of them and long story short I’ve got a ton of those little white sugar bumps all over my tongue now. I don’t know how President Reagan ever conducted Cabinet meetings with a giant jar of jelly beans on the table. I would have been too busy stuffing them in my mouth to care about petty things like the Cold War or the space program!

I’ve been watching No Reservations all day and have seen commercials for a free Kashi cookie at least a dozen times. Nothing pleases me more than a company not only tossing a few freebies our way, but having them advertise it as well. Companies, please take note – this makes my job significantly easier and my appreciation is not soon forgotten!
