Freebie Review 26 – Fiber One Cereal

Free Fiber One Cereal

Welcome to September my freebie friends! I hope your Labor Day was awesome. Mine, was okay. When your uncle threatens to deep fry your cousin, you know it’s going to be one of those kinds of days. What I didn’t like about Labor Day, NO MAIL! I know it’s a holiday and all, but really. So when I opened the mailbox the next day, I saw IT. Among the junk, ABC Soaps magazine and my phone bill, there it was a little box of freebie heaven. It is the sample of free Fiber One cereal: honey clusters flavor. If you recall awhile back I did a review of the Caramel Delight flavor, I have to tell you this is even yummier!

Ok, first of all this was a Wal-Mart freebie. I signed up for mine on July 13th, 2008. It came today, September 2. Two months… I really love Wal-Mart samples because they are always in the nice cardboard boxes, less crumbs!! So as I am opening the box that contains the little box of cereal, I get a surprise. There is a Fiber One Chewy Bar also!! It’s oats and chocolate and sounds yummy. I figure, hey….its a mid-day snack so lets sample! First up is the cereal. It’s about a cup serving. It contains little flat flakes and clusters. Smells really good, wheat like and sweet at the same time. Splash on a little milk and yum! It tastes like honey almost. Well, it’s in the ingredients so I guess it’s supposed to taste that way. Over all the cereal is good, it stays crunchy in milk and does not taste like cardboard, which on the box it states “Cardboard no. Delicious yes.” I have to say I agree. Sometimes things that you think won’t be good really are!

Free Redken Comb

EDIT: No longer available!

If you don’t have long hair, I’m not sure what you’ll do with a free Redken comb. Maybe you could take it out west and sift for huge chunks of gold. Or perhaps you could wrap some thin paper around it and start your own garage harmonica band. What I’m trying to say is no matter how you earn millions with it, be sure you send me a royalty check.

Free Emergency Radio

EDIT: Freebie Cause of Death: no more radios!

Wow, it feels like I haven’t posted a freebie in years. I’ve finally vanquished the bubonic plague that tried to take me down this past week, so I guess it’s back to normal from here on out. I’m not sure I remember how to post a freebie though. Let’s see, I used to ramble a little bit and then I’d make an uncomfortable segue to the freebie, like this free emergency radio. Then I’d toss in a closing zinger to wrap up the post into a neat little package before hitting the “publish” button.

Phew, good to know I haven’t lost my touch!

Free Betty Crocker Potatoes

EDIT: Looks like we’ve been struck by the great Betty Crocker Potato Famine.

I’ve been sick as a dog this week, so my apologies for not posting / updating dead freebies / everything else. I swear I have the worse immune system in the world. What I need is some good homemade soup. I could even eat these free Betty Crocker Potatoes along with it. Though I kind of want the soup right now. I don’t think I can wait 6 to 8 weeks to get better.

Free T-Shirt & Calendar or Cap & Notebook

EDIT: Looks to be dead :(

Oh man, decisions, decisions. Do I pick the free T-shirt and calendar or the free cap and notebook? I mean, don’t we need some more information here? What kind of notebook are we talking about? You can get any ordinary spiral bound notebook at an office supply store for $0.10, but is this a fancy notebook? And what year is the calendar for? A 2008 calendar would be pretty pointless by now. And how do they know what size t-shirt I wear?!

That’s it, I’m chartering a bus and driving to their headquarters to demand some answers.

Free Fruit Roll-Ups

EDIT: This freebie is no longer available.

You can get some free Fruit Roll-Ups if you sign up for a newsletter, which sounds like a pretty fair trade to me. Although I’ve never really understood the concept of rolling up fruit. What’s wrong with normal fruit? Apple’s taste just fine in their normal, unrolled form. Or am I missing something here?

Coupon: Free Sears Padlock

EDIT: This coupon has since expired.

Here’s a free coupon to print out and use at Sears before September 14th for a free padlock. I think my title is a little deceptive though, as it’s not a free Sears Padlock. It’s a Master Padlock from Sears. But that’s way too long to put in the title.

I don’t like long titles for things – especially books! What’s with authors these days coming up with titles so long they won’t even fit on the spine. It’s almost as annoying as the cheap glue being used in newer books. What’s with that stuff? I swear Elmer’s glue holds together better than that stuff. Ahh, Elmer’s. I used to love drenching my hands in Elmer’s and then rubbing them together to peel it all off. It was almost as fun as playing paper football when the teacher wasn’t looking. I actually sucked at that; my kicks always sailed wide left. It was like…

…You know what I plan on locking up with my free padlock? My rambling and trackless thought process.

Free Guitar Strings from LaBella

EDIT: This freebie is no longer available.

I feel like I’m always behind at doing things. No joke. And when it comes to changing my guitar’s strings? I’m horrible at that. I’ll leave on a pair for a year or so, and especially on my 12-string. I haven’t changed that sucker in probably 2 years.

But now with these free strings from LaBella, I can finally change my Takamine’s strings again! Of course, that’s until I have to wait another 4 to 6 months to scrounge up enough spare quarters that aren’t going into the laundry machine to buy another pair.

Unless enough HIF-ers want to request acoustic guitar strings in size 12 or 13… ;)

EDIT: And speaking of new strings, of course my guitar must have read this post because for the first time playing it in about a month? I break a string… Let’s hope that these suckers come fast…
