Free Cream of Wheat Cereal

Some food names just make you wonder what they are. I mean, “mashed potatoes” I get, same with “green bean casserole.” The words describe what it is. But what about “marshmallows?” How do you “marsh” a “mallow?” And what the heck is a “mallow” anyways? Thanks Google for telling me that its a plant.

Needless to say, I guess this free Cream of Wheat cereal sample doesn’t raise as many questions. But “cream OF wheat?” It seems like it should be more “cream AND wheat” to me…

I think the term “Cream of Wheat” is because it is made from the heart, ie: “tenderloin” of the grain…the “Cream o the crop” so to speak…just a thought. Looking forward to the sample!

Egyptians were the first to eat mallow, the sticky sweet “meat” on the inside of the mallow tree. It was considered to be a “food of the gods.” There, a little history lesson for everyone reading my comment :)

Ambrosia is also called food of the gods. Really don’t know what it is only that there was a group (I think in the ’80) of that name.

Ambrosia is also a very enjoyable drink on Battlestar Galactica :D

I always thought ambrosia was a type of fruit salad with cottage cheese? Maybe that was just my wacky neighbor calling her non-edible “creation” something that sounded appetizing… lol
