Free Nursing Swag

Here’s a bunch of free nursing promotional swag, like buttons, book covers, coloring books, and more. It seriously is a collection of random stuff, but in the end I simply went with a free Spanish coloring book. I figure by the time I’m finished coloring it, I’ll be licensed to practice medicine in Mexico. That’s how it works, right?

Swagbucks: Free Prizes For Searching

A while back I promoted a site called Winzy which basically was a search engine that rewarded you for searching. I’ve been using them for over a year now and have probably won somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 in Amazon giftcards. However, I’ve recently been hearing a lot about a site called Swagbucks and so I thought I’d use it for a week and see which I liked better. Final verdict? Swagbucks absolutely destroys Winzy.

Now before I go any further, let me just say one thing. There’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be using one, if not both, of these sites. If you routinely search for things online via a typical search engine, then you’re searching without the possibility of winning something. Any time you search on Google, your odds of winning a prize is 0%. Even if your odds of winning a prize on these two sites are 0.01%, that’s better than nothing, no? Plus, given the facts that most people make multiple searches a day and that winning percentages are higher than that small number, you’re essentially throwing away money if you’re not using either one of these sites.

$50 Walmart Gift Card Contest

Free Walmart $50 Giftcard!

Ok, I’ve got bad news and then crazy awesome news.

The bad news is that I’m not going to be giving away all $400 in prizes over the next few days. Wait, put down the rotten vegetables!

The crazy awesome news is that I’m going to instead be giving away even more in prizes over the next few weeks! I was contacted by a few amazing companies last night that wanted to help sponsor some prizes, so I’m going to be stretching things out in terms of making the contests open to a lot of people. I’ll be holding a contest per week from now until at least March! Throw in the March Madness Contest and it’s hard for me to even fathom how much I’m going to be giving away over the next few weeks!

Of course, I said I’d give away something today and darn if I don’t keep my word! So for today, all you have to do is make a post on your blog about HIF while linking back to us with the anchor text “freebies” and then leave a comment here with a link to your post. Just write something cool about HIF and make sure you include the proper link back. Here’s an quick example:

Hey, It’s Free! is one of the leading sites on the internet for freebies. They filter out all the spammy freebie offers and the guy who runs it, Goob, is pretty legendary to boot! He’s even giving away a $50 giftcard to Walmart this week! So check out HIF and start getting some freebies in your mail!

Or something similar. See how the word “freebies” is linking back to HIF? That’s known as anchor text in nerdy, Internet lingo. You learn something new every day!

It doesn’t matter if your blog is on your own site, Blogger, Myspace, or wherever else you may write on the net. Just make sure you write a little something about HIF and link back to us with the anchor text “freebies.” If you don’t have a blog, then don’t fret! Posting this on a message board you frequent counts as well, as is any other place you can think of. Be creative and chances are I’ll accept your submission. Make sure you don’t forget to leave a comment here with a link to where you made the post so that I can verify it. Then, at the end of the week I’ll pick a winner!

As for what some of the future contests will be, well I will say that one of the upcoming ones rhymes with “scavenger hunt.” Wait a minute, I think I did that wrong… Oh well, if you’re not already a member of the forums, you might want to join up! :D

The next few weeks are going to be freaking awesome, if I do say so myself!

Free Martha Stewart Living Magazine

EDIT: Wow, that went really fast, especially for a Rewards Gold offer.

Unfortunately this free Martha Stewart Living magazine subscription will be the closest I’ll ever get to having a home makeover. Although I’m not sure I’d actually want Martha Stewart to show up at my house one day. Something tells me she’d get one look at my bedroom and have a heart attack. What?! It’s not my fault there’s an inch of dirty clothes on the ground and the old pizza in the trash can is only days away from becoming sentient.

What’s that? Oh, it is my fault? Whatever, you can either keep standing there playing the Blame Game or partake in a much more important game of Help Goob Find His Keys. It’s not the snow’s fault I’ve been stuck in my house for the past few days, if you know what I’m saying.

Site News & $400+ In Free Prizes

HIF is undergoing some super awesome changes this week, (new server! new writers! and more!) and so I thought I’d take a minute to explain them. Oh, and maybe you’d be interested in learning that I’m giving away over $400 in prizes as well? Yeah, that’s what I thought!

Free Diet Dr. Pepper

I feel like this is deja vu back to November when I posted about this one before, but then it wasn’t Diet and then it was all in the name of Chinese Democracy. Now? Dr. Pepper has learned from their mistakes back then and are doing this free Diet Dr. Pepper coupon unrelated to any album or promotion and on a completely different website.

Even still, I have a feeling these 2,000,000 coupons they’re offering won’t last long… Nope. Not at all.

Instore: Free Coffee at Panera Bread (Wed. Jan 28)

Holy moly, look at me. I’m posting this free Panera Bread coffee offer over 24 hours in advance! At the very least, nobody can claim I didn’t give them enough advance.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve run over to my nearby Panera Bread to use their free wi-fi. It’s such a wonderful little perk that always saves the day whenever Comcast decides I don’t deserve Internet service for a few hours. So I’ll be sure to enjoy my free coffee tomorrow while partaking in my morning freebie hunting ritual.

Free Trident Gum

If you don’t mind uploading a photo of yourself to their website or looking at an eerily grinning Joe Biden, you can get a pack of free Trident gum. However, be warned! The site has a map that’s dangerously addicting in that you can zoom in on your zip code (or anywhere, for that matter) and check out all the other local people who submitted a smiling photo. I went to my brother’s hometown and eventually found him before realizing that I’d just spent 45 minutes looking at photos of strangers. Hooray for time management!

Random Free Coupons

Hey everyone! My name is Jenna and I’m one of the new HIF Coupon Hunters! I won’t bore you with my life story (it involves lots of sword-fighting, discovering new continents, and inventing several made-for-tv products), but I encourage you to read more about me on the forums. Anyway, here are a few coupons that I’ve come across. The assortment is pretty random, but then again, so am I!

Big Lots: This store already has awesome prices, but why not print this coupon and save an extra 20% off your next purchase?

Velveeta: Normally I don’t condone buying processed fake cheese, but if you plan on making any cheesy Superbowl party dips this weekend, print this coupon for $1.00 off any one package of Velveeta.

Caribou Coffee: Save $1.00 on any 12oz bag of Caribou Coffee with this coupon.

Snuggle/Target: Keep your clothes fresh and clean and save some money while you’re at it! Print this coupon to save $1.00 off any Snuggle Crème liquid fabrics softener (at Target stores only).

Jiffy Lube: Keep your car in tip-top shape during the winter months, even if you don’t have to drive through melty Midwest slush every day like I have to. Sign up to receive a $5.00 coupon for any Jiffy Lube oil change via email.

Well, that’s it for now. More coupons coming soon!

Free Cookbook Publishing Kit

Maybe its just because I work as a production editor with textbooks, but whenever I see the words “publishing” or “book,” I feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and I reach for a bottle of whiteout and the Pilot Precise V7 Fine Rolling Ball red pen that’s perpetually behind my right ear, ready at a moments notice to editify. No, not the bottle of whiteout, the pen.

So when I saw this free cookbook publishing kit, complete with the software, publishing guide, and sample cookbooks? I just about nearly squee-ed with joy. Till I realized that “squee-ed” and “editify” aren’t real words and I tried to whiteout them on my computer monitor…

I think I might need help.
