Freebies and free stuff

When I see “mousse” in a product, I first think of a dessert. If its not a dessert, I think of hair product. So when I saw this free Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse? I was floored. I mean, its not a dessert and its not a hair product, but its makeup! Foundation! What am I supposed to do now? My whole foundation of the concept of “mousse” is shattered!

Oh well, I guess its a good thing that I signed up for a sample to build a new foundation… It works that way, right?

While I may be married, and I’ve been with my wife for a few years dating before we got married, the one thing that I always hate doing is picking up a box of certain feminine goods from the grocery store. Needless to say, I’m a good husband and I don’t complain to her (which is why I’m complaining here)…

I should really pay more attention to the brand, though, so I can see if any of the multitudes of products inside this free BeingGirl sample pack happen to be things she has me pick up. How am I supposed to know? They all come in the same light blue boxes!

I remember when I worked at Wal*Mart Neighborhood Market how the one aisle I loathed heading down was the diet and supplements aisle. It seemed that every other week there was some new fat burner supplement that had some permutation of the words “fat,” “burner,” “elite,” “extreme,” “maxi,” or “slim.” And in all of them? The same words “Proprietary blend.” Just another box, another logo, another body builder…

Even without containing nicotine, I wonder how effective this free NicoDerm patch is. I don’t think it’d really help cure any of us to our addiction to freebies, though. So what good is it to us, not really having what its supposed to have, but just more being a glorified sticker? I’ve concocted a list of three things we could use this free patch for:

1) Sealing an envelope to a friend to congratulate them on quitting smoking cold turkey.
2) Sticking to your forehead to hide your third eye.
3) Covering up that unsightly blackhead or blemish before your big date.

I’d say that I kept all of my exercise related New Years resolution, but lord knows I’d be fooling myself. Heck, with all of the snow and ice on the ground? The fifteen miles a week I was running has decreased to maybe walking a mile or two once a week. Or mall walking.

Now, though, I guess with this free exercise band, its sort of hard to not work out. I mean, I guess I could use it for some ankle or leg exercise while I was writing up posts here…

Or as the start of a giant slingshot to fire cats at my enemies. As soon as I have enemies, that is…

With the shows “Pimp My Ride” and “MTV Cribs” combined with such outlandish shows like “How Do I Look” and “Clean House,” I guess the next level in pimpage just had to be a computer. So its interesting to see this free t-shirt from Extreme PC Garage (just click on the link in the banner), and it makes me wonder if I could sign up and have them put spinner rims on my desktop.

Almost a month and a half into 2009 and it looks like my decision to buy a calendar last month was right. With none of the free calendars that I’ve signed up for coming, they’d have to give me a free calendar now. Even still, I wonder why I didn’t sign up for this free 2009 V-Rod Calendar…

Oh yeah, probably has to do with the fact that my desk is in the living room and I didn’t really think my wife would like me hanging this on my wall… I mean, she sort of does look like an ex of mine…
