Freebies and free stuff

I’d heard about this a few days ago, but wanted to wait until the official word went out tonight during the Super Bowl. In case you missed the commercial, Denny’s is giving away a free Grand Slam breakfast to everybody who wants one this Tuesday from 6am to 2pm. What the commercial didn’t mention was that in addition to the free breakfast, each Denny’s location has been given 1,000 coupon booklets to give away on a first come, first serve basis.

I’ll provide a link as soon as I can, but their site crashed after the commercial aired. (edit: Their website is back up and running, so here’s the proof.) I don’t know about you, but I think that was the most exciting thing to happen all night so far.

While I’ll admit to being an avid reader, I never really picked up any of these Harlequin books, much less these 16 free eBooks from them for their 60th anniversary celebration.

But seeing they’re not giving away anything I’d read like W.S. Merwin, Wallace Stevens, Dr. Seuss, John Berryman, or Frank O’Hara? Maybe I’ll just download and peruse the pages while I wait for a more suitable reading offer…
