Freebies and free stuff

There are actually two different links for this free Go Red for Women pin, the first obviously being there and the second being here. Some people are reporting that they filled out both and got two pins, but I think wearing more than one pin is setting a pretty dangerous precedent. That’s only a slip away from politicians soon wearing hundreds of little American flags on their suits to prove how patriotic they are and I already have enough trouble not laughing at them as it is, thank you very much.

Today’s free Redbox rental code is MMM325, so for all of those who are wise in the ways of Redbox, go forth and enjoy your free movie! However, I’ve noticed that a few Hiffers are new to Redbox and so I wrote up a Redbox Explanation Guide that covers all the basics of how to use the free rental codes as well as some personal tips & tricks I’ve discovered to help maximize your freebie movies. Don’t worry, these six free Seventeen magazines from Start Sampling don’t come all at once. That’d be kind of stupid. I can’t wait to get my first issue and take the quiz to find out how boy crazy I am! I’m going to invite all my buddies over and we’ll take the quiz together while giving each other manicures they beat me up.

To get the freebie, you have to register for a free Start Sampling account, then go to the link above, and finally click a green button that says you want the freebie. I signed up for my SS account years ago, so I can’t remember if there are a ton of hoops you have to jump through or not when registering, but I don’t think there are. Otherwise I probably would have never signed up in the first place. I have the attention span of … ooh, something shiny!

I’d like to take this time to speak directly to the makers of this free Prilosec OTC and any other pharmaceutical makers. What will it take for y’all to stop airing commercials every two seconds? A million dollars? Billion? Quintuplezillionmajillion? Whatever it is, please tell me so I can start a collection fund today. If I have to hear about seeing a doctor after four hours of an unwanted condition one more time, I may just lose it. Plus what’s up with that stupid purple pill commercial? And don’t even get me started on the weird egg that’s depressed. You’d be depressed too if you were a sentient egg being forced to shill some drug! Cut the little guy some slack and stop putting him on my TV.

Whenever I think of “therapy,” I immediately picture somebody lying on a leather couch, staring at the ceiling and releasing their inner most feelings, while a psychiatrist listens patiently nearby. So does this free Dove Hair Therapy shampoo mean that my hair has some issues that it needs to work out? I know I could probably comb it more and maybe not constantly hide it under a hat or stuff it in a ponytail. I think I’m going to take the rest of the day off and have a good heart to hair talk with the old girl.

Growing up I always used Scott bathroom tissue. Why? I don’t know. But its one of those that’s the thin tissues that really makes you stop and wish for something more…

And after moving out of the dorms and being able to buy my own toilet paper, I made an adult decision which gave me something a bit softer. Something a bit more like this free Cottonelle bath tissue samples. Why? Because I’m an adult, and I deserve an adult toilet paper.

As you all know, I sign up for every single freebie I post here on the site. However, whenever I come across a female magazine offer, like this free Working Mother magazine subscription, I sign up my mom. Well word came down today that she has so many free magazines coming each week that she gets distracted and starts reading them all. So I’m no longer allowed to sign her up for any more! I think I’ll sign my dad up for this one instead just to see what he says when the first issue arrives.

It’s Monday, so you know what that means: free Redbox Rental day! Use HG7W56 when checking out a movie and get it for free. As noted in previous posts, this doesn’t work if you reserve the movie online first. However, not noted in previous posts is that my calendar says today is National Toast Day. There’s a little useless trivia for ya!

Goob and I aren’t really talking to each other anymore.

I think the fall-out started when he and I got into a disagreement over the new U2 album. See, he thinks its phenomenal and everything that’s awesome. Me? I think that its mediocre and bland. I mean, sure, I’ve seen U2 live (November 2005), and the show was beautiful and everything amazing. Better than when I saw Aerosmith and KISS (and I’m a huge Aerosmith fan), but the new album just doesn’t do it to me.

There might be hope for his and my reconciliation, though. See, he and I both enjoy the single, “Get On Your Boots”, and with this free 7″ copy of U2′s new single, maybe he and I can get along again…

After filing my taxes, I’d say that “I’m beat.” The sad truth is, though, a quip like that on an offer for free teen dating abuse bracelets really isn’t a joke at all.

See, the fact of the matter is that 1 in 3 teens is abused in a relationship, and that number is too crazily high. Imagine yourself and two of your friends. That means that either you, or one of them is in an abusive relationship, and that’s not good at all. Abusive teens grow up to be abusive adults, and that’s not a cycle that we want to continue or should want to continue.

Let’s do something to break the cycle, folks. These bracelets are a great way to get the awareness out there.
