Instore: Free Reusable Bag
A few Eagle-eyed Hiffers just tipped me off to a promotion that Target is running for today only. According to page 11 of their weekly circular, if you make any purchase at Target today, you’ll get a free reusable tote bag. Some people are saying they also come with filled with coupons for GE’s CFL lightbulbs, but I haven’t been able to confirm this. Something else I haven’t been able to confirm is that my house is haunted, but that’s another story for another day.
If you’re headed into Target to get this freebie and do some shopping, it might be a good idea to check out our free coupon page, print any coupons for products that you normally buy, and save even more money!
Just bought some things in Target an hour ago. They did not offer a free bag.

I got there too late & missed out on the free bag.
However, I picked up 8 at Stater Bros. as BOGO!
I believe the ad said “while supplies last”.
I went to Target today, and yes, I did get a free tote. The bag was tagged with a coupon for CFLs.
My store was also offering a $5 gift card if you bought two of several brands.
My store told me that they “ran out” at 11:00 this morning, but we could see a stack of them under each cash register.
hmmm for some reason I am not surprised. Their promos always seem to be a bit unpredictable.
I got my free bag, but I had to ask for it. And then the guy said he didn’t have any – when obviously there was a stack of them behind him. “Oh, those aren’t the free ones.”
The cashier next to him gave me one that…hmm… looked just like the ones behind my cashier.
Sometimes you have to be firm!! Also, you can stack Target web coupons with manu coupons for great deals.
I know this freebie is probably dead now since this was a one day offer, but if it helps anyone’s faith in this freebie, I did get a tote bag (for just a $2 purchase of goods even). This was 10 AM…I went to another location around 2:30 PM and I DID see the bags under certain registers, however I was not offered a tote bag (and this was a $30 purchase).
Hopefully they’ll do it again…Earth Day is coming up!
Did get there in time and did get one with my purchase and the hubby got one with his. So now we have two coupons for a whole $2.00 off CFL Light bulbs that expire next month. Middle of hell Arizona!
Aww, dang… I totally bought groceries at Target yesterday too, didn’t know to ask and no one offered me a free bag – it was around 2pm)… ‘course I was already using one of my big Target reusable totes (though I had to use a bunch of plastic bags along with it ’cause I had so many groceries, hehe). Wish I had seen this before I headed out there so I could have gotten a free one, instead of wasting another plastic bag. Oh well… Target’s plastic bags are great for reusing (better than other grocery store plastic bags anyway).
I came across this one by accident – in Target, when I was checking out. My computer hasn’t been working, so I didn’t see this freebie here. I was surprised when the clerk said he had a “gift” for me and it was the reusable bag. I think they probably had a set number of bags they were giving away free, and when they were gone, customers were told they were “out,” even though there were bags just like them visible. The bags they gave away are sold there for 99 cents.
Walgreens is giving away reusable bags also with a purchase.
