March Madness Contest Results

With March Madness coming to an end Monday night, the results of the contest are in!

Group 1
1st Place ($50): letsgospartans
2nd Place ($25): Brutus
Random Winner ($25): Going for the Money

Group 2
1st Place ($50): Marquette
2nd Place ($25): the1
Random Winner ($25): BettingLine

Unfortunately, over half of the winners masked their e-mail address from me, so I can’t contact them. If you were one of the winners listed above and haven’t received an e-mail from me, please go to the group homepage and near the bottom you’ll see a section that says “Recent Messages.” Just post there with an e-mail address that I can contact you at. You need to do this instead of just e-mailing me directly to prevent any scalawags from impersonating you.

I hope everybody had fun (I know I did!) and the next contest shall be starting shortly.

Free Protein 2Go Sample

The human race is slowly finding new things to do with water.

I mean, think about it: first as Neanderthals, we discovered coffee beans and leaves for tea and coffee. Next, we started making Kool-Aid. And now? We’re adding in protein supplements into our bottles like this free Protein 2Go sample.

I wonder what next? A complete meal that you just dump into your water and drink and feel like you’ve had thanksgiving? Jones Soda already has those flavors down…

Free Gillette Body Wash

EDIT: Looks to be Hiffed at this point.

With all of these body washes for men, I keep wondering why a bar of soap just isn’t good enough any more. I mean, I used to be a simple guy in the shower with some V05 shampoo and a bar of Irish Springs and then a splash of Brut cologne when I was done. Now? Guess by Marciano body wash and cologne, with this fancy shampoo or that fancy conditioner, a leave in supplement, and exfoliating wash and so many other products that it seems like I could just spend the whole time I’m in the shower naming off brands.

This free Gillette Body Wash had better be good. I don’t want to have to add another name to the long list of products already sitting around my tub…

Free $10 Coupon Book

Today is No Housework Day, or as I like to call it, a normal Tuesday. I spent all day answering e-mails (only a few hundred left!) and trying to stay warm. 48 hours ago I was wearing shorts and sandals while walking my dogs and now I’ve got on gloves and a sweatshirt. Something seems just a bit off here, if you ask me. Oh well, luckily for you all this extra time I spent on the computer today resulted in me stumbling across this free coupon book worth $10. One of the coupons is for a free 24-oz Hunt’s ketchup, so that alone is worth registering with the site and getting the booklet.

The site also has an offer for a coupon book worth $34 if you send in a form showing you spent at least $25 in participating products, which include Chef Boyardee, Ro*Tel, Hunts, Orville Redenbacher, and about a dozen more. It’s a great deal, especially if you’re already buying some of those!

Random Coupons #10

Hey everyone, the coupon posts have undergone a mini makeover! (Now, that dumb-yet-cute jock will totally ask the new Coupon Posts to go to Prom, and they’ll win Prom King & Queen with sappy pop tunes playing in the background, of course).

Anyway, from now on, all coupons will be organized by category to make things a little easier to find. Most coupons are printable, but all other coupons (such as online coupon codes or snail-mail coupons) will be labeled. Enjoy!

Cheer: $1 off the new Cheer (mailed coupon)

Free Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield

EDIT: This freebie is now dead.

This free Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield is a Walmart freebie, so act fast. I don’t know about you, but I’m going to be a little disappointed if this isn’t an actual shield that I can hold up in front of my mouth. Some people may be worried about gum disease and sugary foods, but I’m more frightened of projectiles aimed at my face.

Free Huggies Natural Diapers

Whenever I have children, I’m going to make sure to change their diapers outside under a tree just like on the packaging of these free Huggies Natural Diapers. The babies look so happy and most importantly, they don’t appear to be releasing any bodily fluids onto their oldest brother as he changes them! Changing my siblings was like playing the world’s worst game of tag.

Site News: Update

And we’re back! … kinda. The forums and wiki are still being worked on, but they should be back up tonight. I was focused mainly on getting the blog up and running over the past 12ish hours, so thankfully it appears to be working. If you’re having trouble leaving a comment or clicking on a link, let me know and I’ll have a look into it.

We might go down intermittently throughout the rest of the day as I try and squash any new bugs that are found. If that happens, you can find all of today’s posts over on our backup blog that I created last night. Or was it technically this morning? Whatever, it’s nap time!

Free Redbox Rental Code

I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to tonight. HIF will be back up and running, all of my errands will be out of the way, and I’ll be free to sit back, crack open a few brews, pop a giant bowl of popcorn, and watch a full 9-inning meaningful baseball game! Then I’ll cap off the night by using this free Redbox rental code of TS473G to rent one of my favorite movies of all-time: Major League. I’ll probably even splurge and rent Major League 2 for tomorrow night.

I’m literally shaking with excitement! … or maybe it’s just lack of sleep. It’s really 50/50 at this point.

Free Better Care Diabetes Kit

I’m a human trashcan. Whatever I can eat, I will. Take Sunday night, for instance. My dinner? 5 egg omelete with heavy cream in it, and some brie, havarti, parmesan, and asiago cheese with a bit of beef sausage in it, a side of baby potatoes, a scone, and some pudding. Lunch? Applebees. Breakfast? Coffee and a scone. And if that sounds normal, well, I won’t talk about the gefilte fish I had on Saturday night. Yum!

But in all seriousness, folks with diabetes aren’t as lucky to be able to eat whatever they want just like that. That’s why this free Better Care diabetes kit with three cookbooks and other things is so great: its options for folks who could certainly use them.

Though, I’m sure that gefilte fish would be just fine to folks with diabetes, just watch out for the sodium content…
