Free NRA Trial Membership
What happens when this free NRA trial membership runs out in a year? Do you simply renew your subscription if you wish or are there further tests you have to pass in order to stay in the club? I don’t own a firearm per se, but I do have a wicked Super Soaker under my bed. CPS 4100, baby! It might not scare away any burglars, but…ah…they’ll be singing my praises if they ever catch on fire!

Are the pickins on the freebies that slim Goob? The NRA – really?!
Husband use to belong to the NRA, they are ruthless and relentless. If you do not want to be bombarded with emails, phone calls, etc. don’t do it.
goob, loved your site until now. Why would you want to promote a group of people that want to who want to undermine everything America stands for?
Goob, please stand your ground on this.
Larry, the NRA stands for freedom, as does America. The right to own arms and to protect yourself isn’t just an American liberty, it’s a fundamental human right.
If people don’t like this particular offer, just ignore it. Nobody’s forcing you to come to this site. Just go on to the next freebie offer.
Despite your other comments, thanks for posting this. The NRA is a great association and if people don’t want to join, don’t. Larry, you do remember the Second Ammendment to the US Constitution, right? Once they take that away, we are in for lots of problems. The NRA might have their quirks, but all in all, they will be sure that you will not lose your right to protect yourself and your family. They are not undermining anything…. well, unless you are one of those people that think the terrorists are our friends and waterboarding is a bad thing ~ then I understand your sentiments.
No Thanks!
If NRA (or ACLU) were offering a free poster or a free t-shirt or even a free dvd, it would have been appropriate. But is membership in a political organization really a worthwhile freebie? Many other organizations offer free membership, at least initially.
Why even comment if you don’t like this freebie? You don’t have to join. Goob is just listing it. That doesn’t mean that he is going to do it and even if he did it’s his perogative.
He listed a freebie on tampons not to long ago. He clearly can’t use it because of his anatomy but that didn’t stop him from listing it.
After joining the NRA with a similar promotion, I was bombarded with emails, phone calls, and voicemails about re-joining. Use a toss away phone number and email if you’re going to join.
I agree, if you don’t like the freebie, simply don’t sign up for the offer. I won’t be signing up for it, I don’t support the NRA in any form. But, the right to sign up is there. And before anyone starts talking 2nd Amendment, remember it was never meant for every home to have a weapon. It was written at a time of war and it was for militias to protect home and property…during WAR. Otherwise, have fun signing up for it. It’s your right to do so.
I really wish you wouldn’t have posted a freebie on the NRA. If a person was interested in this, they would have searched for it themselves.
I think that you should treat everything fairly so maybe it’s time you promote a website that is against firearms, or even an animal rights website.
You must be desperate for freebies to have posted this NRA membership.
WOW! My family has been members of the NRA for a while. We never get phone calls from them, but get the occasional junk mail that my kids LOVE to cut up and make all sorts of things out of it. Like the others, don’t get mad because of this freebie. Get mad that there are crazy people out there doing crazy things with firearms( and I am not talking about those who obtain firearms legally).I think it’s silly to get upset that Goob posted this. Choose which freebies you want. It’s America, land of the free and the lovely chance to get freebies!
Thanks Goob this is awesome! Love it.
I for one would not have known to search for a free NRA membership, but have now signed up for one thanks to HIF. Taking some of the comments into account, I did give a throwaway phone, but I am truly grateful to this site for posting the opportunity.
Thanks for this Goob! I have seen this on other freebie sites but just as a “free membership to the NRA” and thought it was a phony freebie (or one someone had gotten by hook or by crook). Now that I know that it is legit, I’ll go and sign up my husband =).
Oh and to those who are opposed to this listing. Don’t get upset. We’re not trying to take away your right not to own firearms and neither is the NRA.
Thank you for posting this! It is an awesome freebie as our freedom and liberty are being threatened daily. I’m excited that our family is getting to sign up to stand up with other freedom-loving Americans!
DON’T DO IT!!!!!! THEY WILL HARRASS THE CRAP OUT OF YOU VIA TELEMARKETING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello unexpected controversy!
One of my mantras when posting a freebie is to keep my personal preferences out of it. Last fall, for example, I posted links to every Obama and McCain freebie I could find, despite my own clear political preference.
I’ve posted freebies from Peta, the ACLU, now the NRA, and countless other potentially polarizing organizations. Some I personally support, others I’m vehemouthly against, but the day I start censoring legitimate freebies and start discreetly pushing an agenda is the day I know it’s time to close shop. I’m here to post freebies and make weak jokes, not tell people who, what, or how to believe.
The reason I posted this freebie was not because it was just a simple membership, but because it included free stickers and decals, entrance to conferences, potential savings on hotels, and more.
I am a proud supporter af the NRA. I am pleased to announce that I have never shot anyone, used my guns to rob anyone etc. I love target practicing and I also am quite comforted to know that if some pervert, druggie or burglar enters my house with intent to harm I have my trusty firearm to protect myself and my family. You Liberals who think guns are evil and promote gun control need a wake up call. The NRA stands up for American rights. I proudly support this organization. Thanks for posting this Freebie!!
My views on the topics of guns, gun control and the NRA are not going to sway anybody. Similarly, your views on these topics won’t sway mine. However, I’ll support your FIRST AMENDMENT rights to say what you wish about the topics.
Goob,
Thanks for posting the NRA offer. I wholeheartedly agree with your stance to post freebies without regard to personal preferences. Those who wish you didn’t post this simply want to deny the choice to those who otherwise may have not seen it. Suppressing information is un-American, that’s how China and Iran operate.
I’ve been an NRA Life Member for over 30 years; if a member contacts them and asks not to receive solicitations, they will comply. I get maybe 3 to 5 mailings a year. No big deal.
For those who are interested, please check it out and consider becoming a regular member if you like what you see.
Goob, I agree with your philosophy towards this site, and one is grateful for all that you offer us. Once again, let me say thank you.
Amen! Goob. I agree with you on the preferences. I would never join NRA, but agree you should post for those who would like to join.
Kudos to Goob!
I just gotta say I don’t really care about the NRA thing, but I love that we got the same super soaker! we should battle if you’re ever in my neck of the woods
I won’t be signing up for the free NRA trial membership, but thank you so much for EVERY freebie you post!
awesome freebie..ive been a HUGE supporter of the NRA for years. I love target shooting and having fun. supporting the 2nd amendment is definately a part of my life. and i have never been “BOMBARDED” with any kind of harassing emails or phone calls. thanks alot for this. im a LIFE MEMBER so i will pass this on to my friends. THANKS GOOB!!!!!
Here’s another freebie in a similar vein you might want to post–

Come on people, the NRA is a GREAT place to go to teach your kids gun safety, they are the source for nearly every type of firearms training including most law enforcement officers been a member for years and NEVER rcvd 1 call but do get legislation notices and event invites

Please do read the writings of those who formed the Constitution and learn it’s history. The Second Amendment is absolutely about individual rights, protection of those rights and defense, not the necessities of the State or the Revolutionary War. It’s why it’s in the Bill of Rights, and not the Articles which deal with the powers limits and responsibilities of the government.
The First and Second Amendments are commented on frequently by the founders as protections against oppression and tyranny of government. Which is pretty much the purpose of the Bill of Rights.
The Bill of Rights were introduced to the first Congress by James Madison on June 8, 1789. Amendments 1 through 10 were ratified by December 15, 1791. The war had ended in 1783.
An unarmed people depends on others to protect them, keep their safety, defend their rights. So what happens when those protectors are away, or are unable or worse unwilling.
The NRA is an organization that actually teaches respect for firearms, shooting, safety and sport as well as defense.
I’ve gotten far far less mailers from them than the local fast food places, realtors and stores.
I joined it and got my info. So far no junk mail, no phone calls, nothing. Just the membership.
And for all those posting about how bad the NRA is—Your the reason I joined!! Thank you!
