Freebies and free stuff

Comcast, in their infinite wisdom, decided to do me a favor and kill my internet all day. Because hey, who needs the Internet when you blog about things found on the web? … Hopefully most of you remembered that this free Glidden paint offer was today. I’m not sure if it’ll still be up tomorrow, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough!

Don’t let the title fool you – Arby’s will give you a free roast beef sandwich today with a purchase of a drink, not just a pile of roast beef. That would just be weird. I keep forgetting to highlight these Arby’s deals each Wednesday even though I wrote about them back in May. Some might say I’m forgetful. To them I’d say…wait, what are we talking about again? Who the heck are you? Where am I?!

This free Science and Technology of WWII poster is only available for teachers, but it’s the best freebie I’ve found so far today. You might be able to request one even if you’re not a teacher though and then maybe send it with your kid to school in the fall? Hopefully they have a picture of a Spitfire on here because it’s by far one of the coolest plane ever. How can you not love a plane with a name as awesome as that? In fact, I don’t care what my future wife says, I’ve just decided on the name of my first born. Aren’t I a catch, ladies?

Did anyone else get tons of freebies/coupons in the mail today? My mailbox was full! I was so excited for all my free stuff that I accidentally threw away my TV bill and had to dig it out of the garbage. Not my most glamorous moment. Although it could have been worse…at least I realized the bill was gone before I took my garbage out to the dumpster! Hot weather and dumpster diving just don’t mix. TripleFlex used to give out these free TripleFlex Liquid Softgels directly from their own site, but now they’ve handed over the reigns to Walmart. I can’t applaud this move enough, because I’m all for letting other people do things for me. I like to delegate, if you will. Why just this morning I let my neighbor wake me up at 5 am with her loud music instead of forcing my body to awaken on its own at a reasonable hour! What can I say, I’m just a naturally born leader.

I’m not much of an Oprah fan, but I do like the fact that she’s giving away four free O magazine issues. I also like how her production company, Harpo, is simply her name spelled backwards. When I discovered that fact as a kid, it almost blew my mind. Kids are easily amused like that. Speaking of easily amused, my cat’s been playing with the same ball of dust for the past 20 minutes. I should probably vacuum this place. But it’s such a nice day outside! Maybe I’ll go to the park. Why don’t people walk cats like they walk their dogs? Why don’t dogs use a litter box like cats?

Pens just disappear around my work. I’ve learned that if I have a good pen, I need to hold onto it. And that’s why I sign and do almost everything with a red pen, because that way, noone can steal it and claim it as their own. Yup, only I use a red pen.

So I hope that this free ink pen is a red pen. Otherwise? I might have to put a tracking device on it to see which of my associates ends up with it…

The May HIF survey was of immense help to me. I’m still in the process of setting up some new features thanks to the responses I received in it, but I thought I should go ahead and roll out another survey. In fact, since I figure to use surveys to help improve HIF over the next few months, I went ahead and bought a professional license with Survey Monkey. Not only is their software easier for me to work with, but it doesn’t have any annoying glitches like the previous survey had.

The previous survey was focused on improving HIF through certain settings and surfing habits. This survey is more focused on you, the reader. All questions on the second page are optional, but will help in finding new freebie offers. To protect privacy, the only identifying feature needed is an e-mail address (feel free to use your “freebie” e-mail address) and the entire e-mail results field will be deleted altogether once prize winners have been selected. Furthermore, IP addresses are not being logged nor kept in any way.

As for the prizes, I’m giving away two $25 gift cards again! Like before, the winners will be able to choose which store (Walmart, Amazon.com, etc.) the gift cards are for. The survey will close at noon on July 1st, so you have a little over a week to answer a dozen or so questions. Shouldn’t be too hard

I don’t usually have trouble getting going during the morning, but I could really go for this free Steaz organic energy shot right about now. Heck, somebody just give me a regular shot. I’m sure a nice stab of a needle would wake me up. Let’s see, what haven’t I been immunized against recently. Small pox? Is that still around? How about tuberculosis?

Ugh, all this thinking is making me sleepy. That couch over there is looking awfully good… No, fight it Goob!

It seems that Nescafe can’t make up their minds about what they’re giving way! Why, two months ago, they tried for a second time to give us some coffee sample and now it looks like they have another free sample pack offer with a whole new link!
