Free Trivet

First, it was a “coffee tumbler” that people questioned me on. Now, I’m sure its this “free coffee trivet” that I’m sure will turn some eyes. To me, “trivet” sounds like we’re talking about three veterinarians. Good thing I didn’t write the dictionary…

Free REI Seven Function Kids Binoculars

When I was growing up, a pair of binoculars was equivalent to two toilet paper tubes. It was free, and I could make one almost every week! And if those were out, well, I’d cut a paper towel roll in half! Genius!

But now, kids have it easy. With the internets, all they have to do is click to get a free REI seven function kids binoculars. Man, if only there were internets when I was younger… I wouldn’t have had to unroll so much toilet paper!

Free Redbox Rental Code

Inside Redbox, probably the best free Redbox rental code site out there, is reporting that there’s a new free Redbox rental code going around that is available until June 8th. The code is DEVRY6268 and while a Google result for the code comes up empty, a few people on Twitter are saying they used the code without any trouble. Just don’t actually try to use the search function on Twitter. The only thing it provides on a regular basis is an excuse to pull your hair out. Hooray for only displaying accurate search results 10% of the time!

If you’re new to Redbox, check out the Redbox Explanation Guide that covers all the basics of how to use the free rental codes as well as some personal tips & tricks I’ve discovered to help maximize your freebie movies.

1000 Free Burt’s Bees Lip Balm / day

I’ve had no less than four dozen Hiffers send in this offer to me, so there’s no excuse as to why it’s taken me so long to write about Burt’s Bees free lip balm giveaway. Starting at a random time between 9am-noon EST from now until June 20, they’ll give away 1,000 free products each day.

Actually, the randomness of it all kept me from posting this earlier, but then today I realized that Burt’s Bees is the only lip balm that I use anymore. Seriously, it’s awesome. I go with the honeycomb version, but that usually doesn’t last too long as my dogs always sniff it out and eat it. I guess on the bright side they’ll never have chapped lips? On the down side, they’re bad girls! Get in your kennels!

Coupon: Free Crystal Light On The Go @ Target

Word on the street is … okay, I’m not cool enough to use that phrase. Let’s try this again.

I’ve heard that Target has Crystal Light On The Go 3-packs priced at $0.99 in their checkout lanes. As luck would have it, you can print out not only a free $1/1 Crystal Light coupon, but a free $2/2 coupon as well, making this a pretty nice haul!

I know this is one of those freebies that requires you to install coupon printing software. If you’ve ever had trouble getting these to print, you’re in luck, as tonight I’ll be posting a help guide to these types of sites.

Free Glade Scented Oil Candle Tin

There are only 10,000 of these free Glade Scented Oil Candle Tins available and since I’m getting a late start on freebies today (sorry!), I haven’t the slightest as to how much longer this will be available. I actually have a few of these in my living room already and they’re kind of nice in that the candles are small enough to burn out within a few hours. It’s like they were specifically made to be Goob-proof so that just in case I forget to blow them out, the house won’t burn down.

Instore: Free Au Bon Pain Iced Coffee (06/03)

Apologies to my West Coast Hiffers, but this free Au Bon Pain ice coffee doesn’t do them much good as all ABP locations seem to be on the East Coast. This offer is available today only (June 3rd) and started 49 minutes ago. I assume it’s good through the end of today? Who knows, I make a lot of false assumptions. Like that time I figured all it took to fly was a homemade cape. Turns out all capes are good for are making a whooshing sound as you plummet towards a three week hospital stay.

Instore: Free Orange Julius on 06/19

This free 20oz. Orange Julius offer on June 19th is just over two weeks away, which means there’s absolutely no way I’ll remember it. I went to write a reminder on my calendar, but then I got distracted by the doorbell. It was Betty from next store and she wanted to know if I had a wrench she could borrow since her sink was flooding her kitchen. I went to grab one in the garage, but when I got out there, I saw my old, freakishly comfy futon. Long story short, I took a two hour nap, my neighbor hates me, and what’s this post about again?

Be sure to download and print the coupon off their site (no printing software required) as they say you’ll have to bring it in with you in order to get the freebie.

Free Juicy Juice Sippy Cup & Water Bottle

Adam wrote about this free sippy cup from Juicy Juice back in July of ’08, but it appears that the offer is still alive and kicking. Some might wonder why a grown man with no children would sign up for this offer, but my answer is quite simply: it’s the perfect size for rum & cokes with all the spill-proof protection that an inebriated person needs! Although if you do have kids, you’ll want to make sure you don’t accidentally swap each other’s cups. That has disaster written all over it.

For a limited time offer, they have a free water bottle available as well.

[thanks to Betty for letting me know this was still available!]

HIF Survey Update

The HIF survey is now complete and I’m happy to say that we had almost 5,000 people take it, which is approximately 4,900 more than I predicted! I’m still in the process of reading all of the suggestions, but some of the things I was able to learn just by looking at the numbers include:

The biggest change will be posting in-store freebies as soon as we find out about them, as 74% of you wished we did. As you may have noticed, we’ve already started doing so this week.

A figure even more shocking to me was that a mere 3% of you said we should only be posting long-term freebies (that is, freebie that are available for many months) once. Seriously, that low number stunned me. But, as you’ll see starting later today, I’ll be taking the voice of Hiffers into consideration!

Way too many people (25%) answered “what newsletter?,” which means I’m doing a horrible job of pointing out that we have a free daily newsletter that goes out once a day jam-packed with freebies. I’ll do a little tweaking of the sidebar later this month to make it stand out a bit more.

There are 300 people out there with HeyItsFree.net tattooed on their foreheads. I want pictures. :D

And finally, entries 3090 (Chanthy) and 1604 (marva) were the big winners of the contest. I’ve e-mailed them both and if I don’t hear back from them within 48 hours, I’ll pick new numbers. Thanks again to everybody who took the survey and there will be another one in the upcoming days.
