Free General Snus Smokeless Tobacco

Free General Snus Swedish Smokeless Tobacco – Same great cancer causing product without all the pesky smoke! I’m just bitter, because half of my family smokes. If your state laws don’t prohibit it, they’ll send you three trials of Dry Mini Mint, Wintergreen Portion, White Portion and Original Portion – so…hope you like portions.

It feels odd putting this in Health / Fitness, but what other category better suits it?

Although tons of research has not been done on Swedish snus, it has not been found to show any real, conclusive link to cancer, including oral cancer. Quite a bit of research has been done, and it’s all come back pretty inconclusive (i.e. risk factor of 1.10 for oral cancer with a 5% CI and 1.63 or so I think it was for pancreatic cancer – BUT, smoking cigarettes have a way higher risk for both categories! In fact, cigarettes are more likely to give you oral cancer than ol’ fashioned chaw t-baccy!)

No, really! Check out snus on Wikipedia.

They’ve been using the stuff in Scandinavia for over 200 years, and the EU even had to take the warning labels saying that it may cause cancer off of it, because well, we’re really not too sure.

I’m not saying snus is the best thing since penicillin, I’m just saying that if you can’t or won’t quit smoking, it makes an excellent last resort, after things like nicorette, patches, cold-turkey, Chantix/Champix, etc have all failed, or like me, they worked until you decided to have a cigarette with your coffee and/or beer a few months later because, well, you like nicotine and the occasional cigarette, and then get hooked right back up.

snuscentral.org, snuson.com both have quite a bit of information. I ain’t no doctor with no fancy book learning, but what I do know is this – it’s the only way I, and many other people, have been able to successfully quit smoking, and ***if and only if*** no other method has worked for you, you currently smoke and want to quit or be able to breathe again, this is certainly worth a try!

    Now my responses:

te: The only chemicals in Swedish snus are clearly listed on the label. You see, Sweden’s version of the FDA strictly regulates snus, and forces companies to disclose exactly what is in it. Swedish Match, which has recently started distribution in America, has decided to do this in the USA even though they don’t have to. There is usually a chemical to keep humidity in, as well as an “acidity regulator” which is often just baking soda. Other than that, salt, tobacco, water, and (mostly natural) flavoring agents are all that really goes in it.

The Big G: It may help people! Only if they’re already smokers, though.

Paul: I believe Michelle is right, but I’m not sure. I am sure, however, that Swedish Match would be more than happy to tell you! They aren’t like the tobacco companies in America which can never “confirm nor deny” anything. Go ahead and send them a question! How much nicotine is in snus, for instance. They’ll be more than happy to tell you! (although half the time it says it on the can, haha!)

  8. #8 michele |

gee, same debate starting that the nra freebie had going! Again, your views on this product won’t change mine. My views won’t change yours. But again, I’ll defend your FIRST AMENDMENT right to debate it. And a freebie is a freebie is a freebie – leave the site or don’t participate in the offer if you object.

  9. #9 Caretaker |

I wish everyone who smokes could spend just one day in my shoes. If you won’t quit for your own health, do it for the loved ones who will be forced to take care of you and watch not only your life slip away, but theirs too.

BTW, I agree with Michele 100 percent.

the more people that whine and complain about smokers and dippers, the more they make me HAVE to smoke. do you really think that any of you complaining NON smokers are gonna change the world? people smoke, people drink, people cuss, people fart and pick thier nose, and smack when they eat popcorn very loud in a movie theatre, but what good is it doing for you all to complain? yeah people die from it, but people also die from gunshots when they have made someone mad cause they complain to much..the next time you snarl your nose at someone, or make a rude comment bout someones behavior, remember to look in the mirror and realize you got problems too and we all have to deal with that.

If you dont like a particular freebie, then move on and dont waste your time complaining about it. Goob spends alot of time finding fabulous freebies for us. Thanks Goob for all you do! :-)

  12. #12 oogyboogy |

oh and by the way, there is a 100 days of givaways from marlboro cigarettes listed under contests in the forums, im sure some of the complaining non smokers wont mind winning prizes from a tobacco company

  13. #13 Caretaker |

    oogyboogy,
I think smoking is the very least of your problems. Just as you have the right to defend your position, your opinion, and complain about nonsmokers (yes you, yourself are also a dreaded complainer) so does everyone else. You are the one who started talking about shooting those who complain. That is a little extreme don’t you think? You seem to be reading more into any of the posts than there actually is. You need to chill. Sit back, have another cancer stick. You deserve it.

  14. #14 oogyboogy |

im guessing you know what my problems are, since you are in the diagnosing mood, could you please list some so i can get right on top of fixing them? AND fyi, i NEVER said I was gonna go shoot people that complain, i was just trying to make a point that people die from smoking, but people die from getting shot for the stupidest of reasons, everyone dies, so let them do what they want to themselves while they are here. I wasnt taking anything to the extreme, i am very chill, and actually enjoying a beer and listening to house commenting on how i got to you so easily…ill put my cig out now and go on a search to find you a free sample of anal cream

  15. #15 michelle |

    OMG!

  16. #16 Caretaker |

“so let them do what they want to themselves while they are here.”

It’s not that simple. You have obviously never had to care for someone who is dying a slow and painful death from the effects of smoking. If only we could all be so selfish and do as we please and not have to worry about how it will affect anyone else. I hope all smokers have good insurance so as not to burden medicare/medicaid because of their choice. And what about those family members who end up having to care for them and watch them die. Selfish. Just plain selfish.

  17. #17 oogyboogy |

Actually yes i have had to take care of TWO people that were dying from the affects of cancer. I loved them with all my heart, everyday i made sure they knew it too..but that still didnt give me the right to be up in thier face critizing them for thier personal choices in life. People dont like to be nagged at for something that they enjoy. people always say you might get hit by a bus the tomorrow, so live to the fullest. IF smoking is what makes someone happy, and they arent sitting right in your face blowing thier smoke onto you, then so be it, let them be happy. What about all the people that drink and drive, or just plain out speed in thier cars? Shouldnt people jump on them first, because they impose an immediate danger to others? they are being more selfish and stupid then me sitting down and smoking a cigarette outside on the backporch after ive just got done scrubbing the house, breaking up fighting sibling teens, cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner and desert all homemade and always “clocked in”taking care of 4 people. You never know what will happen to you from one day to the next..Not everyone dies from smoking, majority do, but not everyone. Im assuming you are a nurse or something, i think your job is getting to you..

  18. #18 oogyboogy |

Its obvious we will never come to a meeting of the minds, but if you would like to continue this big debate with me, you could start a new topic in the forums under THE PUB, that way its not taking up all this space on the main page.

  19. #19 Kristi |

It’s hard to quit. I just converted to the electronic cig, which doesn’t have smoke and is run by a battery (no combustion). Contains nicotine, water and propylene glycol. They don’t smell bad, and there’s no second hand smoke (just disappearing vapor) for anyone to complain about. No cancer causing products. Cheaper than tobacco cigs by far. There’s tons of companies and info on the internet. I use nicotinegreen.com because their local (Washington State), but their available all over the web. Just another option, pretty cool invention. They are weirdly just like a cigarette to a smoker. I have a pink one.

anyone know why the survey contest hasn’t announced a winner?

  21. #21 oogyboogy |

  22. #22 michelle |

If I could break up the fight, that would be a miracle my friend!

  23. #23 oogyboogy |

its all good, a little debating keeps ya healthy lol..i can usually handle my own. i just thought it was cute that after all that bickering back and forthe you put that question up, made me smile.

  24. #24 Goob |

Michelle, I’m contacted the survey winners and am waiting to hear back from them. I’m giving them a few extra days since it’s the 4th of July weekend, but if they don’t get in touch with me by this week, I’ll repick.
