Instore: Free McDonald’s Mocha on 7/13
McDonald’s must be promoting the heck out of this offer, because a million and one Hiffers tipped me off that on Monday, July 13th, McDonald’s is giving away free hot or iced McCafé mocha. As if we needed icing on the cake, this freebie will be available for 12 hours (7am-7pm), so there shouldn’t be any huge rush during a small window of availability. And now for a cherry on top? This freebie is available on the next four Mondays! Don’t worry, I’ll post reminders each Sunday until the offer dies.

This is what Peet’s coffee should have done instead of their 1 hour promo on Friday! Peet’s marketing are you paying attention?
“Sample” size is still 8 oz., so that’s not too bad, in my opinion.
The McDonald’s website does note that the freebie is a sample size, but the fine print says that the regular mocha is 8 oz., but the iced mocha is only 7 oz.
So, in other words, if you want the most bang for your buck (so to speak), go with the regular mocha. You’d be getting one more whole oz.!
Oh, and this giveaway is happening every Monday this month, ending on 8/3.

Hopefully McDonald’s employees honor this deal and won’t be cranky. The President of the United States wants his freebie too you know.

I’ve tried their mocha and it isn’t that great. Their coffee also tastes stale/chemical-y. I don’t know if this is for all McDonald’s but the one’s I’ve tried it from tasted bad! I guess I’ll have to try this and see.

mywishingpond #9 – It might have something to do with the quality of water in your area. I have eaten in restaurants where the water was so bad that they served bottled water and soda, didn’t put ice cubes in glasses, and discouraged customers from ordering tea or coffee.
I forgot all about this but when I went through the drive-thru today to grab the kids a quick lunch, they asked me if I wanted a sample. I LOVE their iced mocha but rarely buy them because I HATE all of their other food so I rarely go there. It was a nice little treat (was gone in one gulp though).
I find them pricey so this is one way for macdonalds to get everyone hooked on them.

This was great!! I went by McDonalds for the free mocha, and each time I passed another McDonalds going thru town, I got another one. Each time they were different, with the best one being last. I think the second store had them made up in advance, so it was not so good.

My local McD’s was limiting this offer from 11 AM – 1 PM so you had to fight the lunch rush just to get it.
I went to my local Mcdonald’s and apparently they’re only giving away the hot mocho not the iced one. Can they do that? Anyways didn’t like the taste of the hot one, I probably would’ve liked the colder one better.
Well, I got mine, after about a 10 minute wait…and it was i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g! Guess I’m just not the iced mocha type but thanks for the freebie anyway!
I decided to give this a shot too.
The first thing they ask you, in the drive thru, is “Would you like an iced Mocha today?”…
So, I said “Sure”. Then I placed the rest of my order. When I pulled up to the window to pay I stated- “That mocha is free, right? It’s free Mocha Monday”.
The employee, while ultimately helpful and polite, offers up a “Oh! You want the free one? Well, you do still have to get a drink with your meal instead of replacing it with the mocha.” (Good Lord- really?! I don’t need 2 drinks!). He told me the cheapest option would be to get an apple juice- so, I did that.
Now I know that ‘assuming’ is not a good thing- but c’mon….you know it’s free mocha Monday and I guess what you’re (not) saying is that you’ll LET someone pay for it unless they mention it to you! Now that is one heck of a profitable marketing campaign for sure!
Alas, how much can one really complain if, ultimately, it is free.
We had to drive 5 hours today, and we stopped at 2 McD’s for the $1 large soft drinks. The first one had nothing for free, but at the 2nd McD’s we stopped at, there was a guy standing before the drive thru with a tray with the free samples on them. And he handed them to everyone who wanted one that went thru the drive.
I went to my McDonald’s just now and they only had the iced mocha samples, which is fine with me: it’s too hot here for heated drinks!
Not really worth it, just makes you want more.
I’ve been taking me, my mom, my grandma, and my sister, every Monday to get free iced mochas, we say that there are 4 people in the car, so can we have 4 and never have had a problem. My mcdonalds doesn’t have any signs or anything about it, you have to know about it and ask. They have been very polite and the iced mochas look so delicious with the swirled whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzled on top. I am not a big fan of coffee so I add more milk to mine, but hey, it’s free so I can’t complain!
Love the freebie and I reminded everyone on Facebook to go today too!! Cause what mom couldn’t use a free cofee on a Monday!!
I went to two different McDonald’s today to have two mochas. Their iced mocha is way better than their hot mocha
Our McD’s is not only participating, they have a HUGE sign at the door – in English and Spanish! I was pleased with the sample, complete with the whipped cream on the Iced Mocha.
