Free Get Married Magazine

Thankfully when my wife and I were planning our wedding, she didn’t buy the twenty magazines and cut and paste and scrapbook everywhere. But, after working with my store’s bridal consultant for as long as I have, I’ve seen plenty of brides who come in with the unabridged dictionary stack of magazines.

So for the future grooms, beware and hide this free Get Married magazine from her. It’ll only be another thick magazine that won’t have anything good in it for you. Stay as far away from it as you can and wait for the handheld scanners and cake testings, because next to the honeymoon? That’s as good as it gets…

I like that you can set the date of your wedding for the year 2050, just in case you haven’t yet found Mr. (or Ms.) Right.

These days it’s the men that are whining that women don’t want to get serious anymore. It’s funny how society seems to think women live to find some guy who she can cook, clean and pop out kids for. No woman I know wants that. As the great Katharine Hepburn once said “If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married.” :)

What’s with guys and scanners? I’m register for tools at Target and then on our wedding day? Eight thousand different colored towels. He admitted getting scan happy and hiding the evidence of the print out. Judging by him, I don’t think the guys should be involved in that part, either!
