Three More Free Books
EDIT: They appear to have stopped taking orders.
It seems that with all of these free book offers as of the the late, someone’s telling me that I should start reading some more. So that’s what I did before I crashed last night (I’m about half through Floodmarkers by Nic Brown, and I highly recommend, if you’re interested).
And while what I was reading wasn’t a free book, this link to GalleryGrab.com gives you more options for free books from a publisher. Can’t really top that, if you ask me.
Well, I could if it was a rainy day and I had it off and I didn’t have to go in for work, so that I could just curl up with some hot cocoa and the remainder of my book. Maybe I’ll just have to arrange that tonight when I get home…

i dont get it….how do i get them for free?
I looked at this and it says its only for libraries, booksellers and media reviewers. They ask for company name. I’m none of the above. Do you think they’ll include regular folks? Anyone sign up yet?
and it looks to me that only the shipping is free
ok, its all free, i jsut made up a company name
You hit the nail on the head, Mimi and Niki: That’s pretty much the way it is with some of these that you just need to make up a company name.
For me, because I’ve reviewed for blogs and other online resources in the past, I feel alright about using my production company name for it, but to each of us our own.
Hmm, I hope they arrive…
I made up a name too….I wonder if we can do this in the future with more books too. If I don’t care for them, I will donate them.
Wow! I actually work at a library. I thought it was just free shipping too but no, it appears to be all free.
There is no such thing as too many books. I’m super excited to get books!!!
what do I use for payment option. I am getting charged 3.99 for shipping plus book fee. where do I go to get it free
It didn’t ask me for payment option. It went though fine, I got a “thank you”. I’m super excited about the books, especially Mercury in Retrograde. I’ve heard about it and was thinking about buying it. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH, Adam!
I used the company I work for name….and just tweeked it to be a book store.
I got ship dates of January and June 2009??? I wonder if this campaign is still valid? Did anyone else get strange past dates for shipping?
That’s what I got too Debbie….hmm…
Felt a slight twinge about the fib but figure I donate my books to the local library anyway…and then all is right with the world again! =)
I also made up a company name but the ship dates were odd.. I wonder if this offer is any good.
I think it’s dishonorable to acquire books through dishonest means, especially when, as some of you mentioned, you do have access to libraries.
boohoo captDis boo hoo for you
Since technically I am also an Amazon bookseller – I didn’t feel guilty about this at all
I think it’s a great idea to get these books and donate them. Obviously they have enough copies so I don’t feel bad!
Wait, do you get all 3 book free?
Thanks! I’ve been ordering free books all week. My mom loves reading books, and these will be perfect for her
i had no problems and just used my writing group for media affilate and didnt get charged shipping fee or any odd shipping date must been a fluke in the system for those who had problems but cant wait to get the three books .
HAHA. I JUST TRIED TO ORDER AND MY SHIP DATES ARE MAY 1, 2009. SO IT THIS FOR REAL OR WHAT? HAS ANYONE RECIEVED ANYTHING YET???
bet ya dont get a book-how can you give away free books?
jesus, it should of came with valium for half you guys…it will come, chill, and lying is just part of the freebie game..get over it..if its starting to charge then its either been hiffed or its over and you missed out
The estimated ship date is NOT when they are shipping to YOU – it is when the books will be published – afterwhich they will be available to those who sign up. So, as long as the “ship date” has passed, they should come. Some of the books were not being published until December, so they are telling you that they won’t be sent out to you until AFTER that.
I’m passing on this “freebie” as I really think it’s dishonest….I don’t think lying is part of the “freebie game.” If so, then I guess I’d rather have my dignity.
I have my honesty and my dignity…but sometimes we need to adjust our thinking and look beyond our own circumstances…many of us are out of work and struggling financially and NEED these freebie sites.
If you don’t like, don’t need or just plain disagree with an offer – just pass.
A judgemental attitude helps no one.
Thank you Goob and all your friends for all your hard work to bring us freebies that we either can use or can donate ie: baby samples for single/stuggling moms or pet foods for the shelters, etc.
(and feel that we doing our part in donating back to society).
some people need to get a life!
I just ordered 3 this morning – free books, free shipping. Yeah!!!!!!
And I didn’t lie – I AM a ‘reviewer’ – and my husband does have a business name – so there!
Hooray free books!
WOW YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC…JUST TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!
I didn’t lie because I have a library at home. They didn’t ask whether it was a public library or personal library. For the name I’ve put “Veronica’s Library” and its the truth. We’re just thinking outside of the box!
No need to shame us…
Hooray Veronica…for thinking outside the box and NOT being negative, false or narrow minded. Creativity is wonderful thing!!
oh yea i had these ordered a couple of days ago..and was struggling to figure out what to put in the reviewer/media/library thing so i just used my Amazon seller account info. I’m looking foward to getting these
I was going to say the same thing veronica! my husband asks me how the book is, and I tell him…thats a review, right?
Thank Goodness it’s Friday, people
I passed on this freebie as well, but won’t pass judgment on others who didn’t.
I’m a reviewer of mystery fiction, so I was happy to get this. If the publication date is in the future, you will probably not get a finished book, but an advanced reading copy or galley. Those are for librarians and booksellers to try out to see how many, if at all, they want to order. For reviewers like myself, they want us to read and submit reviews, hoping for positive reviews. I ordered a fiction one as I like to read something other than mysteries every once in a while. Thanks for this, Goob!
I did order one of the previous free books, but this offer is obviously intended for people who are going to be able to help the publisher sell–booksellers, librarians, etc. I just think it’s cheating to lie in order to acquire something, especially when it’s obviously not a necessity of life! Every person will make their own decision, but I pass on freebies that I don’t need, won’t use, or aren’t intended for me.
Get over it already- We’ve all read the numerous posts you’ve written and we get the point. Move on to the next one!
I also got ship dates of June 10th and 27th and July 25th. I am a little sceptical that these will actually arrive, but we’ll see. Fingers crossed!
Seems the site is now closed to orders
If someone was offering a donation to charity, would you go sign up as [insert name]‘s Personal Charity, knowing full well that there’s someone more deserving?
Where is the subscriber link? I stumbled accross your site!
I can’t find your subscription link1
Where’s your subscription link?
Has anyone gotten anything yet? I’ve been hoping these would actually come, but nothin’ so far.
Haven’t received any books, anyone?
I received an email today telling me that there were so many requests that they were not able to fulfill all of the requests that came in.
They did email excerpts of the three novels I picked.
Oh well, better luck next time!
i got the same email saying they couldn’t fill the requests. bummer. i was really looking forward to those books.
