Coupon: Free Hallmark $0.99 Card

If you’ve got a printer and are anything like my mom, then you’ll love this coupon for a free $0.99 Hallmark card. I swear, there are more unused Hallmark cards in her house than any other object. You could combine every individual coin, light bulb, and battery and I promise you there’d still be 10 times the number of cards. I’m sure if I dug deep enough in the drawer, I could find something for National Dog Day, which just so happens to be tomorrow.

Make sure you pick a card that only costs $0.99 since that’s the value of the coupon!

EDIT: Also, this is only good at “Hallmark Gold Crown Stores” as opposed to just any place that sells Hallmark cards.

Free ADT Child Safety Kit

This free ADT Child Safety Kit comes with the following items:

  • Cool fingerprint kit (their words, not mine)
  • Magnet
  • Reflective sticker for kids to wear in the dark
  • And games

Talk about making safety fun! The only safety talks I got as a kid centered around not getting into cars with strangers and how to avoid ingesting foreign objects. It would have helped had my parents threw in a discussion about rusty nails as well, but I guess they had more important things on their mind. It’s cool though, I actually enjoyed all of the hospital visits I had over the years!

Current Facebook Freebies

Facebook Freebies

Here’s a list of the current Facebook Freebie offers I could find. I included a contest or four as well, so there’s something for everybody. And as always, if you’re not already a fan of Hey, It’s Free on Facebook, then what are you waiting for?

Coors Banquet – Enter to win a free trip to Colorado and a year’s worth of free beer, which they’ll give you in the form of a $600 check. 149 other people will win a half rack of beer.

Hellmann’s – For every person who enters their contest, they’ll donate 7 meals to the charity Feeding America. The icing on the cake is that 25 winners will win a $250 grocery store gift card.

iTunes – Become a fan and then go here to receive 20 free Indie Spotlight songs.

Neutrogena Cosmetics – Become a fan of them on Facebook and then write an essay of 1000 character or less explaining why you deserve to flaunt your “Inner Celebrity.” If you win, you’ll get a 3-day trip to New York and a private makeup session by a celebrity makeup artist. Back off, ladies, this one is mine!

Organica Deluxe – I’m not quite sure how they are running this contest or freebie offer, but their Facebook page explicitly says:

Become a fan & win! ALL Facebook Fans of OD will receive an “eco-prize” gift certificates, cookies & a grand prize are up for grabs.

So….woo hoo?

Pei Wei Asian Diner – After becoming a fan, click on the “Upgrade Ramen” tab and sign the petition. A card will then be sent to you in the mail, which can be redeemed for a free order of Japanese Chile Beef Ramen.

TeenFreeway – After becoming a fan, fill out this form and get a voucher sent to your email for a free Beauty Gift with a cosmetic brush. It looks like they’re only taking submissions from teenagers, so if you’re able to buy tobacco or alcohol legally, this isn’t for you. But look at the bright side – you can buy tobacco and alcohol!

The Cheesecake Factory – After becoming a fan, click on the “Vegas” tab and then click on “Enter Now.” Fill out the sweepstakes form and you could then win a trip to Las Vegas for you and 9 of your friends! I’d really appreciate it if none of y’all entered this though so that I have a better chance of winning :)

Coupon: Free Chick-fil-A Sandwich

Chick-fil-A has a new website where the first 250,000 people to register will get a free Chick-fil-A sandwich coupon. However, if you’re not one of the first quarter million, fret not, for up to 750,000 free coke coupons will be sent out as consolation prizes. Which is way better in terms of value differentiation than most game shows even provide.

Oh really, I didn’t win the grand prize of a vacation to Costa Rica, but you’re giving me a discount knife set? Gee, thanks. Is there any chance you can swap out my plane ticket home for a relaxing Greyhound bus ride while we’re at it?!

Okay, fine, you caught me. My cable provider just added the Game Show Network to my lineup…

Free DentaBurst Teeth Cleaner

As somebody who is hours away from getting a few cavities filled, the last thing in the world that I want to think about is “dentist + something bursting,” so I’ll take a rain check on this free DentaBurst Teeth Cleaner.

Great, now my heart is racing, I’m sweating bullets, and I’ve still got three hours until I go in. I doubt I’ll get any laughing gas either, so I better numb up the old fashion way – to the whiskey cabinet!

Free Almond Snack Tin

EDIT: This is no longer available.

Holy moly, the free Almond Snack Tin is back! My excitement stems from nostalgia as the first and only time I saw this offer was over 2 1/2 years ago. It’s just a small tin that originally came full of almonds and then you can fill it back up from your own nut supply. It’s supposed to be the right size for one dose of nuts every day or something, but I just like the fact that old school freebies are making their rounds again. I’m afraid it’s about as close to time traveling as I’ll ever get.

The fine print says this is worth $10.00 ( ) and that they’re giving out 50,000, so get moving!

EDIT: I didn’t really make it clear that the tin is all you’re getting this time around. No almonds, just the tin!

Quick Poll on Links

I’ve gotten a few e-mails recently about links opening in a new window and so I thought I’d see what the general consensus was.

Currently, links to freebie sites open in the same window. They can be set to open in a new window / tab, but that setting would then take away the option from you.

As most webmasters see it, users should have almost total control over their own surfing habits. Site shouldn’t force a link to open in a new window, but instead let users have the option. For instance, I enjoy links opening in new tabs and I do this by using the scroll wheel on my mouse. Most people don’t realize that the scroll wheel is also a button and by using it to click a link in Firefox, it’ll automatically open the link in a new tab. I don’t know if this works with IE or Chrome, but I’d suspect that it does.

There is also another method, which is to right-click on any link and select “open link in a new tab/window.” This is clearly more ineffective, but research shows it’s the most popular. *insert picture of me scratching my head.*

However, the more I think about it, the more keen I am to opening freebie links in a new tab for HIF. Most sites don’t have nearly as many links as we do, thanks to the nature of posting freebies. Chime in by voting / commenting and letting me know how you feel about it!

Free Menopause Survival Kit

We posted this free Menopause Survival Kit back in December, but I’m not sure if it came or not for those who signed up. Suffice to say, this was one of those freebies where I signed up a friend or relative instead of myself. Something tells me I’m not going to be going through Menopause anytime soon.

Coupon: Free Bag of Halls Cough Drops

If you don’t mind taking a short survey, you can get a printable coupon for a free bag of HALLS drops or hard candy, up to $2.29.

Copy and paste the link below into your browser and then fill in your name and e-mail before hitting enter. The info you provide will be printed on the coupon, so unless your legal name is FIRSTNAME LASTNAME, you’ve got some typing to do.

IS: Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic

Call me crazy, but I don’t think building a toy bus at the next free Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic this Saturday at 10am is going to get kids excited about going back to school. As a kid, the last thing I wanted to think about in the waning days of summer was school. I didn’t even want to think about school during school either, but that’s a whole separate idea. Or debate. Or story. I’m not sure which word to use, I didn’t learn much in school.
