Coupon: Free Downy Wrinkle Releaser

EDIT: The marketing company running this offer looks to be a tad bit clueless. Here’s the coupon in question and your best bet will be to use it in a self-checkout line since it’s for a free item.

Downy has a promotion going on where you can get a coupon for a free travel size Downy Wrinkle Releaser if you upload a photo of a wrinkled item to their website. Unfortunately for them but luckily for lazy people like me, they’ve got the coupon directly uploaded onto their site. So…do whatever you feel like on this fine Monday afternoon. It’s not like I can tell you what to do. Or can I? Uh…send me $10. Make it $20! Actually, go ahead and draw up Power of Attorney papers for me to sign.

They also say you’ll get $10 in coupons if you subscribe to their newsletter, but again, they have an option where you can bypass that altogether and have the coupons mailed directly to you. Either the people over at Downy are geniuses or somebody really needs to explain to them how proper marketing works.

Mis, I uploaded the coupon here to HIF.

Becky, you might be able to use it in a self-checkout line :)

Wow, you can actually print as many as you want. Yikers for Downy. I was good and only printed 3. :)

I KWYM Becky. Because some people abuse the system and print multiple coupons, merchants in many areas won’t accept them. :-(

“your best bet will be to use it in a self-checkout line since it’s for a free item.”—Why is that? Is there something wrong with this coupon? It looks okay to me. I don’t understand.

April, most stores will not accept “Free” coupons that are printed online due to some fraud ones that were floating around. Sooo, if you use the self-checkout line, you don’t have to worry about it.

Okay, I see. Thank you, Becky. :) I suppose if I were in their shoes, I might do the same thing, although for such a small item, it would be better customer relations to let it go (as long as they don’t have multiple of the same coupon). Sometimes I think it’s insane when checkers make a huge deal out of a small amount. Sometimes it’s only a penny!!! The lucky ones of us are those who have a large choice of stores and can use the ones that don’t give us “coupon problems”. I feel bad for those who have no choice.

One more thing. I don’t know how the rest of you are printing your coupons out, but after the first one, I decided to go black and white because these use a lot of blue ink! Also, if you print out the coupon, it prints the front and back on one side. If you put the page back in, upside down, it will print the appropriate front and back sides, so that, when you are finished you can cut out the coupons and they match up perfectly with a front and back side! :)

I used mine today at Target. Only took the piece that had bar code. No problem accepting it. Printed it in color. But, it did ring up $1 off. Trial size was $1.99. Had to have a manager come over and override the $1 off, the manager looked at the register receipt to make sure I bought it. Luckily we had a young man checking us out, he was cool. Some of the older women checkers are very mean. Manager gave me the $1.99 off. got it for Free.

Used two of these today at Target. The cashier had some difficulties, but I got them at no charge.

Used this today at Walmart with no problems. I think I had the manager, I also used 3 coupons for zantag (was $3.98 for an 8ct package). The coupon rang up as $5.00 off so I ended up making $3 dollars off the deal and getting a face wash in my cart for free. I was pretty pleased
