Free Essence Perfume from Elle
This free Essence perfume from Elle is described as “pure and luminous, this modern musk…”
Yeah, I’m gonna stop you right there. I understand what musk officially means, but I think it’s time somebody call up Merriam-Webster and ask them to change the meaning. Musk just sounds…nasty. When I think of the word, I think of skunks. Or garbage. Maybe even mold. I can’t remember the last time somebody has described a smell as “musky” and my reaction was “oh boy, let me take a whiff!”
So with that, enjoy the musky perfume!

Musk:
1. a substance secreted in a glandular sac under the skin of the abdomen of the male musk deer, having a strong odor, and used in perfumery.
YUCK!!!
another complainer guess we need to mod these responses and ban the negatives ones from their ip address…..
Yeeeeeeah….what?
I filled it all out and submited it and it says it’s a contest and I’ve already entered. (OooooooooK)
I thought musk was the mating scent of musk elephants xD…
Musks generally smell pretty good I guess, hopefully they don’t still make it from animal’s mating glands, though.
no ones complaining DR JOHNSTON…you don’t have to be rude! thought it was kind of funny.
huuuuuuuuuummmm
Musky or not it’s still FREE!!
and free is good!!!
That reminds me of The Princess Bride when the little short guy keeps saying “Inconceivable!” and finally Montoya says, “I don’t think that word means what you think it means..” But I agree. Musk sounds dirty. Not hot dirty, but nasty dirty.
Here is how the word “musk” should be used:
My 6th graders are musky when they come back from gym class.
HELLO!…my name is Inego Montoya…you killed my father…prepare to die! I love that movie!
