Free Month Subscription to ConsumerReports.org

EDIT: Some Hiffers are reporting in the comments that after taking this survey, it won’t submit. So I’d consider this to be dead.

If you’re thinking about making any semi-big purchases in October, you may want to consider taking this fairly long survey in exchange for a free month subscription to ConsumerReports.org. They’re a non-profit consumer agency that reviews everything from digital cameras to lawnmowers to dishwashers and they’re quite blunt if a product is superb, average, or downright atrocious. Kinda like me. I’m not afraid to tell it like it is! Just as long as it doesn’t bother anybody. I wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings.

I personally didn’t take this survey, as I already have a subscription with them, but others have said it’s a bit on the long side. Still, it’s a good deal if you want a second opinion before buying something.

how is this is a subscription if it’s one month? how often does this thing come out. digital or print

anon-this is not a magazine subscription; it’s a one month pass to their website where you can look up ratings for most everything they have reviewed. It’s quite handy for ratings on everything from automobiles to appliances to laundry soap. I love it…it’s much easier to use their website than to try and store and later locate the magazine that has the item you are wanting to research.

Susan, that’s good to know. From the way other people were talking about it, I figured it’d be longer :)

This is a good reference guide. It is also available at most public libraries.

I did this whole long-@ss survey and at the end there is no “OK” button, just a “click to submit…” and I can press it 100 times and nothing changes!

    NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

Consumer Reports is a good resource. I’ve used it for over 20 years. The survey, however, was quite lengthy and didn’t let me complete the process (no place to give my name, e-mail, get a code, or direct me how to get my free month). Hopefully, it will be up and running again. I don’t know if it is worth another 10+ minutes of my time to try.

I went all the way through this survey and at the end if froze up. It kept saying click ok to get your free one-month subscription but it would never go to the point to enter my mailing information.

Same issue as #7. You’d think I would have heeded your advise and not taken the survey!!!
