IS: Free Sears Halloween Portrait Collage

Not content with giving away free toys on Halloween (more on that soon!), Sears is also giving away a free Halloween-themed portrait collage worth $44! You’ve got until Saturday, October 31 to use the coupon and the fine print says nothing about making an additional purchase.* So if your kid looks especially cute in their costume this year (and come on, how can they not?), you might want to take advantage of this.

*According to Freebies 4 Mom, some people have had mixed success with this. If you’re interested, make sure to call your local store and confirm they’re participating.

I was a Sears Portrait manager for several years… They wouldn’t allow just the freebie, They’ll require you to make a purchase.

I live in Michigan.. I went to the Roseville sears and they said: I had to pay a sitting fee for my son because the picture is only for 1 person and then the sales pressure to buy more was intense they acted like I was steeling because I only wanted the free picture.

I went to the Security Square location in Maryland. Terrible wait time (they were running an hour late on all appointments) and they required a $14.99 print purchase before giving you the free Halloween print. Very shady – I’d rather use JCPenney or the Picture People.

Usually Sears always pulls some “hidden fee” out of their collective hat when you arrive. So-BUYER BEWARE!
***If you were indeed lucky enough to get your portraits “free of charge” then you were definately the exception- not the rule. (see comment #1)
I’ve found through the years that Sears is not a place to go for pic’s unless you want to spend hundreds of $$. If I’m paying that kind of cash then I am going to my local PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER- not to a high-pressure sales person who gets paid $8.00 pr. hr. and who may/may not know how to take a decent picture!
(Now that everything is going digital- RETOUCHING your photo is a problem and a whole lot of extra $$ as well!!)
***My humble advice…If you want a pretty good pic at a fantastic price- Walmart can’t be beat. What is listed is what you will pay in the end.
