Freebies and free stuff

EDIT: Well that died quickly. Sorry for leaving it up longer than normal. I was taking an unscheduled medication-induced dream.

Guess what’s back! The free Kraftmaid Kitchen Idea Book is here for a few hours today. It’s almost like a game for me to see if I can find it and post it each month before it quickly dies. This will mark the fourth month in a row that I managed to track it down, which is by far a personal best. I doubt there’s a world record, but dang it, there should be. Heck, finding freebies should be in the Olympics if you ask me! If golf and rhythmic gymnastics can earn people gold medals, I don’t see why I shouldn’t have a few hanging around my neck!

Every October it seems like a bazillion free calendar offers appear (free Joyce Meyer 2010 calendar, anyone?) and yet only two or three ever show up. Sure, that may be enough for most people, but I need at least a dozen calendars. I figure one per wall in each of the three rooms I spend most of my time in should balance out my horrible memory capacity. It’s so bad that…wait, where am I? Who the heck are you people?!*

* I’m almost certain I’ve made that joke before and yet I can’t remember when! See, I’m not kidding, my memory is horrendous!

I was gonna give it a whirl just now but I have no idea where my camera is and my body is too sore to move. In fact, I know I recently asked any Hiffers who are scientist to invent edible shampoo, but I’d really appreciate it if they suspended research on that and instead developed a cure for whatever is ravaging my lungs right now. Some people say it’s the flu, but I’m pretty certain it’s a mutant alien species.

We posted some of these L’Oréal freebies and coupons this past April, but many of them look to still be available. Why? Probably because they’re hidden better than Atlantis. The only problem with a free I Heart Bacteria t-shirt is that I in no way, shape, or form “heart” bacteria. It’s not that I hate it, I simply don’t have any opinion on it whatsoever. Like Neptune or ocean currents; I’m told they exist and that’s about as far as my thought process goes on them.

These free Brunswick bowling coupons are meant to be given out at Halloween treats, but take my word for it: coupons taste horrible!

I very tentatively checked the “sports” category, I might add.

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services is giving away free 2010 calendars in either English or Spanish. I picked up a Spanish version for fun before remembering that being confused in a foreign language really isn’t that fun. The last time I was in South America, I spent 20 minutes trying to pay for a subway ticket while the man behind the counter kept screaming “gratis, gratis!”

Long story short, I walked home that evening.

It’s official – the flu has ravaged the Goob household. It looks like a war zone out there: Kleenex scattered everywhere, half empty glasses of juice on every flat surface, and then the zombies. They’re supposedly humans that I once knew and loved, but judging from their current moans and wheezes, the only logical conclusion is that they want my delicious brain. I tried leaving my hermetically sealed bedroom to give this free Redbox rental code of QNGJ7KD as a peace offering, but their response was a cacophony of sneezes that I interpreted as an attack order.

Walmart has a new link up for free Goodnites Underpants, but it’s linking directly to a StartSampling page and in the world of freebie blogs, that’s like trying to enter a black hole. Usually their links just reload the current page. I don’t know what they’re doing over there at StartSampling, but they’re making me look like a genius.¹
