Free Amazon Song Download
If the free Beastie Boys album wasn’t enough of a musical freebie for you, how about a code for a free Amazon song download? Just use code CMAAWARD and you’ll be able to download one of over 3,000 CMA nominated country songs.
You’ll probably be able to download any song you want, not just a country tune, but I’m not 100% sure. It’s kind of like my belief that El Nino is the cause of all the world’s problems. I haven’t been able to “prove it” with “facts,” per say, but I’m darn confident about my theory!
EDIT: It looks like the credit will only be used if you get one of the 3000 songs I linked to above.
[via Janet and Wanda - thanks!]

Just confirmed that it works with any song. I’m pretty sure Lady Gaga isn’t country…
From what I see, you are restricted to certain songs. Hey, I’m down anything for free especially if the free song is from the Entertainer of the Year 2009!
I just downloaded the song “Burning Bridges” from the movie Kelly’s Heroes, so I guess any song will work. Now, can anyone tell me where to find it and how to play it? (yes, I’m old and never downloaded music before)
thanks
It charged my credit card when I tried to use the code to download pink! another $1.29 down the drain.
So … is it FREE or do we pay $1.29????
So, the Eagles are country now? Fine by me.
I downloaded “Life’s Been Good” (live), which is not a country song, nor an Eagles song.
It deducted $0.99 from my previous gift card balance when I downloaded a song not from the list. The list of choices includes 9 pages of songs by the Eagles. Unfortunately, everything else looks like country music.
If you enter the code correctly, it adds $1.29 to your account. Then subtracts $.99 when you “buy” one. You can download anything you want but it must be entered before the order is submitted.
And…you actually come out ahead to the tune of $.30.
Entered the code correctly, it added $1.29 to my balance. Clicked on the button, it told me my new balance. Then I downloaded a song & amazon still charged for the song I downloaded.
I don’t have an account with amazon.com, so in order to get the free download , you need to give a credit card #, etc. I chose not to give that information, for a freeload.
Thanks anyway..
Just bought two songs (one by accident). It only deducted 99cents from the total, I didn’t get the extra 30cents to use on the other one.
Be careful. They only apply the credit towards certain songs, not just any song. You get to choose from a list. I didn’t realize this and got charged for the two songs I downloaded.
Make sure to enter the code before clicking “Buy MP3″. Unlike normal stores where the promotion code is applied at the end of the order, Amazon decides to just go ahead and charge your credit card without showing you where to put in the code (it is a link in small print near the top of the page where you find the ‘Buy MP3′ button, something about redeeming gift cards and promotion codes.
I have e-mailed Amazon how stupid their business practice is that I can order the song and have my credit card charged just by clicking my mouse, but to send them an e-mail immediately afterward about the way they do their order process, I have to confirm my password. Seems like they should have that password confirmation before an order is placed…
Carmen…..I didn’t have an account and I DID NOT add a CC and it let me download a free song.
Beth Ann,
Thanks for the comment…I tried again, and it worked without CC.
