Free Beastie Boys Mashup Album

You know those days where you can’t keep your eyes open no matter how many IV drips of coffee you have going? Yeah, that’s my day so far. The odds of me taking an unscheduled nap at my desk within the next hour is near 43,000% I hope my laptop is not adversely affected by drool.

I’ll try waking myself up by blasting this free Beastie Boys DoubleCheck Your Head mashup album, but I doubt it’ll help. I can sleep through anything and plus the songs are … fairly … melodic … zzzzzz

Coupon: Free Rosemary Mint Body Wash

Take this coupon to your nearest Aveda store and get a free travel-size Rosemary Mint hand & body wash. There’s no way I’m getting this though. The last thing I need is temptation to eat my minty-smelling hands. I think we all remember the vanilla lotion incident of Ought Seven. I’m still paying off those hospital bills!

50 Free Photo Cards (no shipping fee!)

fujifilm-seehere-logo

Edit on 11/17: Please read the SeeHere Updates post that I just published.

Freebies 4 Mom has scored a great deal for every freebie fan out there: how does 50 free 4×8 or 5×7 photo cards with free shipping from SeeHere by Fujifilm sound? All you have to do is use the code freebies4mom-1109 before Nov. 30 and your total cost for all 50 photo cards should be free. Just for reference, 50 custom cards normally run $39.50 before shipping, so we’re getting a $40+ deal here.

In addition, you can also get 100 free photo prints when you create a new account and use the promo code prints. This is a separate offer from the 50 free photo cards, so you’ll have to do two orders if you want to get this as well.

I normally hem and haw about sending holiday cards, but now I have no excuse, huh? My only qualm is that Christmas already gets enough attention. What about Boxing Day? Or Festivus?! That’s it, I’ve made up my mind. I’m going to create a card that reads “I got a lot of problems with you people!” and then send it to everyone I love the most. If they still talk to my afterwards, it’ll be a Festivus Miracle!

A lot of people are obviously using this code and as such, SeeHere’s site is a bit slow during the middle of the day. If you’re having trouble or getting errors, you may want to try at a later time. I haven’t ordered my cards yet, but will try to do so later this afternoon after the newsletter goes out.

Free Clorox Green Works Laundry Detergent

ShopText has a new freebie available via text messaging – simply text NATURAL to 467467 and you’ll get a free sample of Clorox Green Works laundry detergent.

I just realized I never wrote a guide to using ShopText, so look for that in the next few days. But until then, here’s a quick guide: you sign up for a free account on ShopText.com and then any time you want one of their freebies, you send a text message with the secret word. Their software matches your phone number to the address you used when signing up and automatically ships the freebie out to ya!

It’s kind of nifty and cool as long as you overlook how close we’re getting to creating Skynet.

Deal: Free Kleenex at Walgreens

walgreens-november-healthy-savings-booklet

Finally! I’ve had this darn post in the editing queue for almost 48 hours because I couldn’t confirm it to be legit, but I just got back from Walgreens with a bag full of Kleenex and my pockets only a few cents lighter.

Buy 3 boxes of Kleenex Facial Tissue @ $2.29 each.
Use $1/1 coupon from the November Healthy Savings Booklet (it’ll deduct $3).
Use $1.09 coupon found on the front page of their in-store ad.
Use $0.50/3 coupon from SmartSource.
Final price is free!

In actuality, all of the coupons save you $0.23 more than the Kleenex cost, so you’ll have to buy a cheap item like gum or candy. I picked up some peanut butter M&Ms, which cost $0.89 and yet I only paid $0.84 for everything :) My in-store ad also had a Reese’s coupon for $0.49, but I didn’t see it until I got home.

I used the coupons in the order listed above and it worked fine for me. If you think your local store may give you trouble, might I suggest having a look at our Corporate Coupon Policy post?

The photo above shows what I had trouble with. My local Walgreens only had the booklet on the right, however the Kleenex coupon is only in the booklet on the left. Figures. This evening I swung by a Walgreens a few miles away and wouldn’t you know, they were slam-packed with the Healthy Savings Booklet I needed!

Free Kotex Ultra Thin Overnight Pads

EDIT: This offer is no longer available.

How many time have these free Kotex Ultra Thin Overnight Pads with wings been given away? A bazillion? Gajillion? Fluffvillion? Clughizllion?

Huh? Oh … Yes. I’ve been drinking. But responsibly! I gave my keys to my dog and my cat is standing by with a glass of water and Tylenol non-liver-destroying medication.

Free Energy Conservation Kit from TVA

This free energy conservation kit from the Tennessee Valley Authority is only available to parts of AL, GA, KY, MS, NC, TN, and VA. However, I’m posting it because it comes with two compact fluorescent light bulbs, outlet and light switch gaskets, filter whistle, two faucet aerators, hot water temperature gauge, home thermometer, and a “How to Save” brochure.

I have no idea what a faucet aerator or switch gasket is, but they sound cool. At the very least, I’m sure they could help me with my time machine. So far I’ve built the core unit and perfected making the “BZZZZZZZZZ … KERPHEW!” sound with my mouth. I just hope time travel actually sounds like that. Otherwise, I’m just some doofus making a weird noise in a large metal box!

IS: Free Coffee Smoothie at Tropical Smoothie Cafes on Wednesdays

free-coffee-smoothies-at-tropical-smoothie-cafe

I’ve got good news, great news, and amazing news. Let’s get to them in that order. Good news: you can get a free Caramel Creme Coffee smoothie at your local Tropical Smoothie Cafe from 7am-7pm on Wednesday, Nov. 11. That’s tomorrow!

Great news: they’re also giving away free smoothies on each of the two next Wednesdays (Nov. 18 & 25). Can I get three cheers for three free smoothies in one month?

And now, the amazing news: I made a meal last night that didn’t give me food poisoning! And I’m eating the leftovers for lunch! Don’t look now, but I could almost pass as a self sufficient adult.

Free $10 Gift Certificate from Coinstar

If you have at least $40 in coins lying around, you should consider taking them to your nearest Coinstar and cashing them in. For doing so, you’ll get a free $10 gift certificate to Amazon.com, Lowes, iTunes, or whichever other store you choose. The offer ends 12/06/09, so you’ve got almost a month to round up an spare change if you’re short of the $40 requirement. So far I’ve only been able to find three pennies, a Canadian Loonie, and a Cheez-It. I’ve got a ways to go, but at least I’ve now got a snack!

Their FAQ states that an 8.9% processing fee is charged for cashing out ($40 * 8.9% = $3.56 fee), but it also says that if you convert your change into a gift card, it’s free. So, for example, you could get a $10 and $40 Amazon gc or a $10 Amazon gc and $36.44 in cash.

Annye pointed out in the comments that the official rules states you have to exchange your $40 for a gift card, not cash. So on the plus side, you won’t have to pay any fees, but you also won’t be able to get pure cash. It’s still a good deal if you shop at any of the stores which they offer gift cards for. Sorry I initially missed that!

Free Graffiti Safewipes

These free Graffiti Safewipes are a pretty novel idea – they’re meant to quickly and easily erase graffiti from street signs and other frequent targets, like my mailbox. I tried getting the neighborhood kids to think I was cool, but apparently wearing rainbow suspenders and frequently saying “cowabunga” no longer makes you hip.
