Free Pillsbury 2010 Calendar

Can plants die from too much watering? Somebody who obviously doesn’t know me that well recently gave me a plant and I’m now hellbent on keeping this sucker alive. It’s well hydrated, I’m giving it plenty of sunlight, and I even built a little bed for it to sleep in.

Huh? Oh, yeah this has nothing to do with a free Pillsbury 2010 calendar you can sign up for. Sorry about that. But as you can probably tell, I’m pretty focused on not killing something.

OH NO, a leaf just fell off! I gotta go!

Yes, Virginia, you *can* overwater a plant.
Water does not equal love. :(
    Good luck!

I know I can kill a cactus with love (water) in less than a month.

That’s odd. I always thought that Pillsbury and Betty Crocker were rival companies. I signed up for this calendar and received an email welcoming me and there was a link for coupons. I clicked on the link and the last one on the Pillsbury coupon link was for Betty Crocker Potatoes. Go figure. I thought it was funny when the information screen looked suspiciously similar to the EatBetterAmerica calendar site which is supposed to be a Betty Crocker site. Oh, well. Hope there are some interesting recipes.

    Barb,

I too had always thought that Pillsbury and Betty Crocker were rival companies. However, during a recent Publix promotion, I discovered that both Pillsbury and Betty Crocker (as well as Progresso, Muir Glen, and a myriad of other brands) are part of General Mills!!!…..Go figure. To see the complete list of brands that are part of General Mills, go to http://www.GeneralMills.com and double-click on “Brands” near the top of the page.

Also, if you look carefully on the packages of most of the brands listed, you will see the name “General Mills” in small print.

I just got a plant for my office from someone here at work!

She’s gonna show me how to take car of it! :D

Thanks for the info, Oldtimey. It just goes to show you that with all the corporate buyouts you never know who’s who. I just checked the link you posted. I’m a stickler for healthier ingredients so there are really only a few of the brands that I would use but I like to cook and I’m good at adapting recipes. And Goob, even those of us who were born with a “green thumb gene” can kill plants or just can’t grow certain ones that others have no problem growing. Like #2 mom, I’ve also killed a cactus, although I think it took me longer than a month. But if something happens to your plant, don’t be afraid to try again or to try something different.

Start by watering it only once in two weeks. If the leaves drop before the two weeks are up, water when that happens and then water at that interval from then on.

If it is a cactus, water it even less.

    Good Luck!
