Freebies and free stuff

If you have a Pilot Travel Center nearby, then become a fan of them on Facebook and get a coupon for a free box of Revolution tea. If you don’t have a local Pilot and really want the tea, you might consider writing on Pilot’s wall and asking if they’ll mail you the tea directly.

You know what’s coming next, don’t you? Here’s where I subtly hint that HIF has a Facebook group and that you become a fan. Then I ramble on about how cool our fans are and how we already have 4 or 8 million of them. Or maybe we only have 17,580. I never did trust math after it joined the Axis of Evil.

Talk about an old-school freebie coming back from the dead. We first posted this free Yogi tea back in September of 2006. 41 months may not seem long, but in freebie terms, that’s like the Middle Ages.

In fact, back then I used to hunt for freebies while dressed in a full suit of armor! I was worried my pets would band together and create a new nation-state without me, so I was constantly ready to fight. Fortunately, I soon discovered the New World followed by the Enlightenment. Both are still two of my favorite bars.

The way this freebie works is that you send a “well wish” to your friend and they get two free tea samples. Either make sure they send you a well wish back or send one to yourself.

If you’ve been saving up free Disney Rewards Points, then you’ll appreciate this code: HT6G7K3XW and it’s worth 50 points. I don’t know what prize y’all are hoping to get, but I’ve had my eye on the Hannah Montana electric guitar with a pocket amp. The free Gold Bond Ultimate Moisturizer sample is back, but let’s see if it pulls a HIF Special like the ConAgra offer yesterday and dies within minutes of me hitting the publish button.

I wish I had the power to punish freebie companies whose offers are Hiffed within minutes. It’d be fun to make the CEO of a Fortune 500 company sit in the corner of my room while I pelted him or her with insults. In fact, that sounds like a good idea for a television show. Comedy Central, I await your call.

Copenhagen is giving away free multi-tools, which is a fancy term for pocket knifes. If you signed up for the free camouflage hat they offered back in November, then your login info will work for this as well.

If you’re using Chrome, the first link won’t work, but I’ve got ya covered with a backup. I rather enjoyed the extra work in tracking down the second link, as it distracted me from staring at the clock and wishing it was time for Lost to come on.

I was going to wait until this week’s Try Your Luck Thursday post to write about Kikkoman’s free Chinese New Year Celebration contest. But then I won a prize yesterday, posted a message on Facebook, and watched as dozens of Hiffers proceeded to win prizes as well. I’ve already had four freebies die on me this morning and dang it if I’ll let that happen to this one as well!

You can only win once, but try each day until you win something. Also, don’t share your entry code (which you can get for free on their site) if you win something. The rules state not to use a specific code more than once, so if you and somebody else win with the same code, they could null both prizes.

I got an e-mail this afternoon with a free Blockbuster Express Rental Code. It doesn’t look like an exclusive code, so enjoy a free movie on me. Just make sure you don’t use it tomorrow night because that’s when Lost’s final season premiers. I have a feeling my posts tomorrow are going to be nothing more than “OMGLOST2NIGHT!”

The code is GW12B1 and expires on 2/8/10.

A recent press release announced that the first 500,000 people to sign up for Denny’s Rewards over the next two weeks will get a free burger and fries coupon valid between March 1-7. That’s a month away, which is like a millennium for me. I have the patience of a three year old. Other things we have in common: drawing skills, the desire to chew on household objects, eating habits.

Denny’s Facebook page mentioned that the coupons won’t be sent out until February 28, so mark your calendar and be on the lookout for it then.

The rules for free Redken Style Connections sound like it’s a contest that started today, but the main page makes it look like a straight up freebie. I hate it when freebies are questionable. My life is already confusing enough without deciphering the intentions of the geniuses at Redken.

Oh well, it can’t hurt to sign up. You get to choose from Matte Sponge, Velvet Gelatine, and Wool Shake and if you “win,” then the freebies should arrive in a few weeks.
