Free Bloomberg Business Magazines

EDIT: Bummer, they’ve run out of magazines.

RewardsGold has free Bloomberg Business magazine subscriptions available. Maybe one of the issues will have an article to help me through some of my recent deals. I was certain putting my life savings into a planetary air conditioner to combat global warming was a foolproof investment, but now I’m not so sure. I began to grow suspicious when I saw the backup plan of shooting ice cubes into the sky.

Budget Busters #3: Mint.com

Mint.com - Free Financial Management

The amount of time I spend online can only be classified as unhealthy. While the oncoming bout of scurvy is sure to put a cramp in my style, one of the upsides is coming across random sites and services that I think might be useful to fellow Hiffers. I’ve been using one such site for almost two years now and frankly, it rocks. Long story short, if you’re not using Mint.com, you’re missing out.

If you’re anything like me, you have tons of financial institution sites that you can log into. Banks, online savings accounts, credit cards, retirement services, student loans, investments. The only thing harder than logging into each of them every day is trying to figure out how to match my clothes in the morning. Navy blue and neon pink go together, right?

Enter Mint.com. It’s a site that allows you to access all of your financial information in one place. When I log in, it also logs into all of my accounts and updates my balances as well as recent activity. Worried about security? They use 128-bit SSL encryption, which in Nerd Language means the same stuff that banks use when you pay bills online or buy something from Amazon.

Seeing how much money you have in all your accounts only scratches the surface of what the site does. One feature is setting up budgets. Take me: I have a serious addiction to iTunes. Be it music, TV shows, iPhone apps – it doesn’t matter. Having them only clicks away is dangerous enough, but when everything is only $1 here and $2 there, it’s easy to lose track of how much I’m really spending each month. So what I do is tell Mint.com that I only want to spend $20 a month on iTunes and then it’ll not only start monitoring it for me, but send me an alert when I’m getting close to my limit.

I could delve into a million other little features they have (iPhone app, credit card & investment suggestions based on your spending habits, etc.) but by now I’d simply suggest checking out the site. Even if you’re still skittish, just have a look around. It’s a phenomenal service and most important, it’s free!

Free Hardee’s Instant Win Game

It seems that everybody who plays in Hardee’s free Instant Win game on Facebook wins a prize. I got a free small soft drink with a cheddar fries purchase, which isn’t all that phenomenal. Then again I don’t even have a Hardee’s nearby.

Anybody else think the promotion itself is crazy? There’s a dancing star, a tiger wearing bling, lightning, fire, a wheel of awesome. I wonder how many drugs were involved in the production of this.

IS: Free Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream (5/18)

Participating Haagen-Dazs shops will be giving away free ice cream from 4-8pm on Tuesday, May 18. You’ll only be able to choose from three flavors (chocolate, vanilla, and coffee), but that’s 300% more ice cream than I currently have to choose from. The only things in my freezer are ice packs, beer steins, and what I can only assume are leftovers from 2006. Every time I try to throw it away, it growls at me.

Free Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Oil

EDIT: This offer has expired.

In order to get some free Palmer’s Cocoa butter oil, you have to create an account on their site. That’s unlike, say, commenting here on HIF! *hint hint*

[thanks to everybody who sent this in!]

Free Dishmate Dishwashing Soap

Viewpoints began accepting requests for free Dishmate dishwashing soap today, but the only way you find out if there are samples left is by signing up and checking your email over the next week.

Come on, Viewpoints, P&G let me track my freebie requests online! You can’t be bothered to throw up a message saying when all the freebies have been requested? I feel like I’m in some dysfunctional relationship. Are we still dating? Are we exclusive? And what the heck does this restraining order exactly mean?

Random General Mills Freebies & Coupons

Dust off those old Spanish notes and start looking around for the smart kid whose homework you’re bound to copy because there’s a new link for the Que Rica Vida offer. For those new to the site, it’s a Spanish magazine that comes with coupons for General Mills products as well as the occasional random freebie or two. No worries if you don’t speak Spanish, as I was able to bumble my way through the signup form.

For the record, I almost made an atrocious ciudad joke about turning around and saying goodbye to my father. You should thank me for sparing you from it.

Free Chex Mix

General Mills has a Facebook app, called Tablespoon, where you can get free Chex mix for taking a 16 questions survey about your “food personality.” Wait, I have a food personality? How many freaking personalities do I have? It’s already a little crowded up in my head.

The site is going a bit slow right now. If you get an error message, just refresh the page and you should pick up the survey where you left off.

5 Free Disney Rewards Points

Free Disney Movie Rewards Points

Is the weekend seriously over? It was so…fast. I don’t care how many free Disney Movie Rewards Points I find today, like today’s code of E9V03JA393. I’m still going to be wishing that it was Saturday all over again.

One time in college, I thought I’d imagined the perfect system and went to bed Monday morning with the hopes of sleeping all the way to Friday night. It worked much better in theory than practice.

[thanks Erendira!]

Freebies Received: Week #15

Freebies from Hey, It's Free!

Hooray for free toiletries and trashy gossip mags! Between coupons and freebies, I honestly can’t remember the last time I paid full price for shampoo or soap.

Freebies Received

Anybody else get a ton of magazines this week? I heard some people already received their Kraft packages as well!
