Freebies and free stuff

There’s no Lowe’s event this weekend, but there is a free Home Depot kids workshop tomorrow. It’s available to kids 5-12, runs from 9am-noon, and they’ll be making a periscope.

Ahhh, that brings me back. As a kid, I was obsessed with becoming a spy and begged my family to buy me every stupid spy toys available. The only problem was that upon getting them, I learned (A) there was nobody to spy on in my neighborhood and (B) I didn’t need any of the concealed weapons as squads of assassins surprisingly weren’t hunting me down.

EDIT: And for the third time, we HIffed it!

For the third month in a row, Walmart’s free Secret Clinical Strength deodorant is back. I think they’re trying to tell us something.

Sam’s Club has a new free Purina One pet food link up. A membership ID is required, so bust out those Sam’s Club cards! You know, the ones with the nine digit ID number and a little black & white photo of you down in the corner. No, that’s your library card. Stop, stop, that’s a voter registration card. You know, on second though, how about I take that pet off your hands. I’m not sure you’re qualified to look after another living creature.

Y’all are great at keeping me on the ball when it comes to freebies. I lost count of how many people wrote in to say that the new quarter started with July, which means we can all request some Proctor and Gamble Everyday Solutions freebies. Here’s the thing though: I’m not requesting any freebies now.

If you’re new to the site, it’s basically a system that allows you to request a batch of freebies once every three months. I logged into my account today and all they have are two freebies (Head & Shoulders shampoo and Prilosec) with six random coupons. That’s it. Compare that to April, when they offered at least six freebies.

If you want the shampoo and heartburn medicine right now, then by all means go for it. However, I’d suggest using this alternative free Prilosec OTC offer instead and waiting a few weeks before making a submission on P&G’s site. Something tells me there will be more freebies available before the next quarter starts in October.

It’s a new months and with it comes a new Pampers Gifts to Grow code: FACEBOOKJUL2010. Not new this month is my hatred for Microsoft products. I’ve been building some features for HIF and have them working in everything but Internet Explorer. I’m fairly certain I ticked off Bill Gates in a past life and his entire career to this point has been centered on irritating me. It’s the only logical explanation for that stupid flying toasters screen saver.

I’m a fan of funny sounding words, so props to this free Womanity fragrance offer. In preparation of my upcoming womanity, I painted my nails and started a purse collection.

By the way, ladies, I now totally get the allure of a purse. I’m packing enough pepper spray to take out a small village and there’s room for my gum and phone!
