Free Blue Star Flag
Its a challenge to write something witty as much as Goob and I do. I mean, sometimes, the joke is staring you right in the face. Other times? Well, you just feel like posting something and not really having any sort of quip.
And this free Blue Star flag is one of those times. Sure, I could make some joke about the color, or the stars, or even something about Jughead seeing blue stars, but lord knows that its just a little too early for me still, and my funny part of my brain is still waking up…

I don’t know if you read the description, but these flags are supposed to be for people who have served in the military and their families in order to honor them. Please do not just order this freebie for the sake of ordering it.
You display them when you have a family member on active duty in harm’s way. We will be displaying this for my husband
I really hope that you didn’t refrain from you usual quips and gaffaws because you were tired. I would hope you would do so out of respect for what this ‘freebie’ is. There is no humor in what is represented by a Blue Star Flag. Only Honor and Respect.
I second Mat, Jenny and Christi’s thoughts. These flags are to be displayed by the families of military service personnel who are on active duty.
Your welcome! some one post a freebies what you do with it has nothing to do with the post, so be nice to the ones that send you information for you to get free things and yes this is a freebies to honor : )
Plus it says APO addresses. Families of military don’t have those. : (
These flags, officially known as “service flags”, were created in WWII for families who had a service member serving during a war. Typically, you had a blue star for each relative who was away, and the star was gold if they had died while serving.
I don’t have a family member in the military, but I will be respectful and not order one because there are too many families out there entitled to one.
Totally agree with the above posters. This should not have been posted here or it should have been made clear that this is only for military families.
Who cares what you people think, it is a free country. If you do not want it then do not order it.
Ugh! I’m so mad at myself now! I didn’t know what it was so I ordered one, and now I really wish I hadn’t. I wish it had been posted on the description what this was so I would have known.
Your “jokes” are usually not very funny but trying to be funny with the Blue Star Flag is a disgrace. Families with a loved one in the service wouldn’t appreciate your attitude. I remember blue stars for service men and woman in WWII, Silver stars for wounded, and Gold Stars for Killed in Action. I have a Gold Star for my brother from WWII. Be more respectful. If you have no knowledge of an item look it up or leave it alone! Marjorie
To anyone and everyone who was offended by this post:
My intent (and Goob’s, for that matter) is never to offend, and with this one, I didn’t want to offend by making any sort of quip or joke. So like it was suggested by Mat, I actually refrained because its not really something for me to joke about.
As we say/ask/request with all freebies: Only request what you need. Thusly, for anyone who clicked through and didn’t need this? There’d be no reason to request it, unless they knew of someone they’d donate/give it to.
So for anyone who was offended, my apologies on that matter. I don’t take myself very seriously here, as you can tell, but its never in my intent to offend.
@#10 Catie – When your flag arrives, please give it to your local VFW or other military service organization and ask them to pass it along to a local military family.
Adam,
You did nothing to offend anyone. People need to READ what they are ordering and pay attention to things. You simply post what you find. What people chose to/not to order is not in your control, nor should you be chastised for it. My grandfather was killed in WWII and I will fly the flag out of RESPECT for him and all those presently serving. There is NEVER any harm in showing your support for the troops, however an individual chooses to do so.
Hi,
First, I want to thank everyone for their support of our Blue Star Flag program and I would like to address some items:
1) In response to Simon’s post (# 8), our flags are NOT limited to just military families as we realize this program would not be where it is today without the support of friends, families, neighbors and supporters, regardless of their military affiliation. Just the other day, I received a request from a barber in New Jersey who wanted flags to display in his store, in support for his customers, most of whom are either serving or have a loved one serving our country. As long as these flags are properly displayed and treated as a symbol of honor, respect and support, we have no problem with giving them out to all supporters.
2) In response to Carmen’s post (# 6), we can deliver to any address within the United States including APO. This does not mean it is limited to just APO addresses. As long as you have a mailbox and a valid address, you can receive a flag.
Again, we appreciate the support and your input is raising awareness of the Blue Star Flag and all that it represents.
Thank you for standing by our troops and feel free to contact me if you have any questions about our program.
Carl
I actually ordered this a little while back for my daughter, her godfather is overseas with the Marines right now, we got the flag in about two weeks ago and it’s hanging in our living room window where she can see it, she’s still a little young to know exactly what’s going on, but she seems to really like it either way and seems comforted that it’s something for him.
Carl,
Thanks for clearing things up. This a wonderful program.
Adam and Goob,
Anyone who is really familiar with this site should know by now that you are simply trying to be a little entertaining when making a post. You put everything out there that you find regardless of what your personal feelings are. The person reading the post SHOULD take it from there. I think that some ppl get their feathers “ruffled” a little too easily sometimes! You guys do an awesome job and we appreciate all of your hard work.
I ordered the flag b/c my Pappy served in WWII and I have various family members in all branches of the military. But, I’m mainly ordering it because I am proud to be an American, I support and pray for the safe return of our troops.
I suspect this is why many people ordered as well!
God Bless America
Please Pray for our Troops
Well said, #17 Rev Robin!
I think this site should have a “like” button like Facebook does!
Semper Fi!
I ordered this for a friend who’s boyfriend is in the military.

Don’t let the “like” button bite you.
Why do you need to make jokes for something that is being offered for people who are related to someone in the military that is deployed?
thanks to all of you for your sensitivities to those of us with fanmily members serving – i agree with the “read what you are sending for” comments – as far as the original post goes: could you have written a bit about the purpose of the star? could you have refrained from jokes all together (especially about jughead?) tacky, tacky
I have a question and I’m hoping that someone could provide insight as I am not too familar with all of the ins and outs of Freebie sites. Our site (mybluestarflag.com) was recently profiled on this site and the response has been wonderful. However, we also received a number of inquiries from users who claimed that an order was placed without their consent and I was wondering if our site was a victim to a scam or illegal practice.
No harm was done as we are giving away free flags and these orders were removed from our system. But does anyone have any idea if this has to do w/ a hole or flaw in freebie sites?
For those who ordered a Blue Star Flag, thank you for standing by our troops as we need to remain positive and supportive of the military and part of that is understanding what this flag represents as it is a true symbol of support and dedication.

the flag? so your saying dont order unless you or one of your fam is in military active duty? why cant they order to show support to the ppl fighting for us? dont be dumb the more suport and ppl who wanna order order it i say!! i have friends from school and 3 out of 4 of my cousins over there! they would be glad to know people have flags up in support! cant you find something worth bitchin about! like the reasons why ours are still over there! fight about that!
Got my blue star flag in the mail today. Thanks!
I ordered the Blue Star Flag. My son was in the Navy, my husband was in the marine corp, a niece was in the Coast Guard, a nephew who served in the Army during Desert Storm as well as serving in the marine corp, and a brother-in-law retired from Marine Corp who survived 2 turs in Viet Nam. Currently have a niece who is a nurse in the Navy and a nephew in the Marine Corp. A niece’s husband also was in marine corp. So, you can see we have military connections.
So, I suggest that when in doubt about what you are ordering, read before you order.
