Freebies and free stuff

I don’t know why but I found the free U by Kotex sample pack’s confirmation message to be highly enjoyable – “the goods are on their way.” I don’t know why we don’t refer to freebies as “the goods” more often. Saying I was hunting for goods all day long sounds a lot better than “Oh, I spent a few hours looking for free tampons.”

If you’re the outdoorsy type then you might enjoy tomorrow’s free National Parks admission day. Over 100 national parks that normally charge an entrance fee will waive the requirement but let me say this: don’t go!

Don’t even think about going. I went with my family this summer and long story short they left me behind. Unfortunately for them I’m like one of those cool dogs from a Reader’s Digest story and I walked all the way home in just under a week.

I used to really look forward to Wednesdays at my old job. There was a great bar-b-que joint right down the road that had a special on a beef sandwich on Wednesdays and I’d always snatch it up. Now for me? The only thing I look forward to on Wednesdays is that my conference call was on Tuesday and not today!

So now, I think I might start looking forward to this next Wednesday, September 29th, and using this free Kobari Beef coupon at our mall’s Panda Express. Sure, its only a single serving, but with the food I know we’ll have sitting around left over at work? Why, its a whole meal!

Anybody else heavily relieved to see “for me” in Crest’s new toothpaste freebie? If it wasn’t for that I’d have no idea who this freebie was for. Me? My dog? The DVD player? For the love of God, why don’t all freebies come with such clear directions!? You should have seen what I ended up doing with last week’s GoodNites underwear.

I believe in Oklahoma. Really, I do. I mean, if there was no Oklahoma, we’d only have 49 states; we’d have an upside down baseball cap shaped hole in the middle of our country; and we’d be without… ummm… let me get back to you on that one while you show your support for Oklahoma with this free bumper sticker…

Code SSD19B is good for one free Blockbuster Express movie rental through Sep. 30. In other news, Blockbuster is headed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy! Sure, they say kiosks will remain open and unaffected but I’m using my code sooner rather than later. I’d be heartbroken if I wasn’t able to watch Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue for free.

One of these days I’ll cash in my Pampers Gifts to Grow points and get an awesome prize. In the mean time, I’ll keep adding codes like PAMPERSTWITTER5 and eating pretzels. Not that those have anything to do with each other.
