Free Barilla Pasta

Vocalpoint’s page for free Barilla pasta has three strong selling points for the food.

  1. More protein than a hard-boiled egg.
  2. More fiber than a cup of broccoli.
  3. Almost as much Omega-3 as a 3-oz. serving of shrimp.

Sounds good. Unless you live in Columbus, OH or Orlando, FL because the offer isn’t valid for you. But don’t worry, you can make a bowl of egg broccoli shrimp and get the same nutritional value! I’m sure it’ll taste great.

  3. #3 Dan |

I tried to sign up for the vocalpoint thing. It denied me and told me that I have to be a woman to be marketed to. Congratulations, Barilla, you lost a customer!

  4. #4 Mee2 |

Thanks!! I love FREE! Dan – It’s Vocalpoint that isn’t giving you the coupon, not Barilla. I would go to the Barilla website and submit a comment via the contact form. Just let them know you heard about this great offer, yada, yada, yada, you can’t get it cause you have testosterone, but that you would really love to try their great new product. They may just send you a coupon because you sent them some feedback. :o )

Went to the other computer in the house (because the site remembers your ip), and signed up my wifes name (with her permission, of course). It worked.

Not sure if I’m getting this one. I’m a Vocalpoint member. Clicked on the get pasta button, my name and address were already filled in, clicked on the button and it took me back to the previous page. Tried it a couple times with the same results. Is that what the rest of you saw, or was there a confirmation page? My local store probably doesn’t carry this product, so I guess it doesn’t matter if I don’t get the coupon.

  16. #16 Goob |

Psst, here’s a little secret. I’m not a woman and yet I have a Vocalpoint account. They’ll never know. ;)

If any of those that got this coupon are allergic to peanuts. I would be careful. This pasta has legume flour. Legumes can cross-react with a peanut allergy. We found out the hard way! Still love the other Barilla products though!!!

A little while back I noticed the same thing on a different freebie. I wrote vocalpoint and here is how the convo went.

    Customer (Mike XXXXX) – 09/13/2010 11:25 AM
Choosing and or restricting new memberships or members based on gender is illegal based on the 14th amendment. I am pretty sure you will come back and say you accept men as members, however upon testing your system with several colleagues its apparent that very few, if any men get accepted.

I’d appreciate a response on how you justify such action.

    Thanks

    Mike

    And their response…

    Response (Nina) – 09/13/2010 01:23 PM
    Hi Mike -

Vocalpoint is a marketing group powered by the Procter & Gamble Company that recruits influential moms to help companies develop exciting and relevant product ideas and marketing programs that moms care about and want to talk about.

We already have a few members of Vocalpoint that are fathers, like yourself. Our official criteria for membership is that you be an adult over 18 years of age living within the United States. That describes you, right?

All of our content and programs are designed to reach mothers of children ages 19 and under in the household. But the father’s that have already joined don’t seem to mind! And as long as you’re okay with that, we’re okay with that too.

So I would be happy to complete the registration for you if you provide me with:

    First and last name
    Preferred email address
    Complete postal address
    Birthday
number of children in your household (if any)
ages of children in your household

This information is required so that we can provide you with the most relevant programs and information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thanks again for your interest in Vocalpoint!

    Have a great afternoon,

    Nina
