Freebies and free stuff

One of the things that I miss about college at UCF was the Krispy Kreme down the road from college. I mean, right next to my favorite little Cuban shop, I could walk across the parking lot and grab myself a dozen donuts. That was the ultimate writing fuel right there. If I didn’t have a bowl of ramen and a Powerade, the next best thing was right there down University Boulevard, and boy was it good…

Now, I’ll just have to find the nearest Krispy Kreme so I can redeem this free Krispy Kreme glazed donut. Besides, its not like I’d have any luck finding a good Cuban shop here in central Illinois…

In order to take this photo, I had to fold my laundry which led to straightening up my room and before I knew it I was in full blown cleaning mode. My desk hasn’t been this clutter-free since I moved. I wasn’t even positive I had a desk any more. I imagined my computer and papers had learned to float in midair./

With just under a week to go, I still have to do some shopping for my wife’s and my Thanksgiving feast. Thankfully with getting some free laundry done today at our complex, we don’t have to pull up the sofa cushions to look for some extra change for groceries. Nor do we need to search for a cookbook after the Martha Stewart offer the other day and this free Mr Food Thanksgiving e-Cookbook today.

Now, despite the cookbook? Until they actually find a cookbook that’s a book that cooks and isn’t just a book that tells you how to cook? I can’t guarantee that we’ll have the best looking turkey here…

Usually when someone is talking to me about metals, its about nickel-free steel. But, I guess I have to think about it every time I drive up to the gas station. Not that I have a problem with finding leaded gasoline, but if I did, well, I wouldn’t be looking for it with this free lead free information kit. Something tells me that its definitely an unleaded kit…

I guess that CVS figured that we’d have run out of sprays from our sanitizer pens back in July so now, they’re offering 5 free hand sanitizer wipes at any local MinuteClinic location.

This begs the question that if its called a MinuteClinic and it takes over an hour, is that false advertising?

It’s been a while since we’ve had any free RecycleBank points. Maybe there’s some cosmic correlation between them and the low amount of recycling I do. It’s such a challenge where I live. The collection center is sporadically open, the bins are always overflowing, and my dogs love to get into my empty soda cans collection. They don’t even lick the cans but instead roll around in them like they’re a giant McDonald’s ball pit. They’ve had more baths in the past month than me. *winks seductively at all the single ladies*

So maybe if I go in to get this free votive candle tomorrow from 10am to noon (the offer is posted with a banner there, you don’t need a Facebook to get it), I can get myself an interview too? I mean, I’d be there and I’d be in a suit, right? That’s half the battle?

I don’t know why Seven Eleven is calling Black Friday this whole Purple Friday thing. I know for me, I’ll think of it as Red Friday while I wear my red for the Christmas season, while working at my retail day job, but if you get me alongside Goob wearing some blue, he and I could make it into Purple Friday, I guess?

Last year when my wife and I tried to do turkey, to call it a disaster would be an understatement. This year we have a much simpler chicken dinner planned for now, but there’s something about having that darn turkey on your plate that one day out of the year that’s just right.

So maybe with the directions in this free Martha Stewart e-cookbook I won’t mess it up this year? Nah, probably not, but at least there’s a Perkins open somewhere!
