Freebies and free stuff

So I missed the ball on this one for this Friday, but seeing Goob did too, I don’t feel as bad, I guess?

You see, I didn’t believe it till I saw the commercial while watching South Park on our DVR, but Burger King is giving out free 12 oz Seattles Best Coffees every Friday in November. Yup, that link takes you to a store-finder with a quick little news blurb. I should have believed it, though, when it was well posted across Google News sites. So no coupon required, just call ahead and make sure your local one is participating!

Ah well… when my work opens on Black Friday, I’ll just have to swing by and get a cup to feel better about missing the first week by getting one the last week…

Growing up, my sister would eat only three things from Chinese buffets: black olives, hard boiled eggs, and egg rolls. Occasionally we could convince her to get something like the sweet and sour chicken (sans the sauce) or fried rice, but you could always figure out what her plate would be on each trip. It easily translated over to Subway too, when she would get extra black olives on her sandwiches. Yup. They’d open a whole new can for her when she came.

Now, all I need to get her for Hanukkah this year is this free California Olive recipe book. Not that she’d use any of the recipes. Her favorite recipe is two steps: Use can opener to open can; enjoy!

Growing up, my mother always had those scented cones in the bathroom. I don’t know what it was about those things, but I thought of Devo everytime I saw one, especially whenever we’d go to Chinese buffets, which used to have a few of them in the back in the bathrooms.

So now, when you click on them on Facebook, you can get a coupon for a $1 off. That being said, seeing most retailers have them for $.97, that means you’re getting a free Renuzit cone. Now, I can open my own Chinese buffet and my bathrooms will smell as fresh as those at home!

(I think that the more cold medicine I take this weekend, the more incoherent my posts get!)

I hate it when you’re sick and you wake up in the morning feeling even worse than you did the night before. Its like when you go to bed drunk and you wake up with that really bad morning hangover? Yeah. Same deal.

So its a shame that this free Jergens Overnight Repair sample is only for the skin, because if it repaired all of me? I’d buy it by the tubs and hold Dionysian festivals…

I really need to kick this cold. I mean, sure, for a 3 day weekend noone wants to do any sort of work. but for me? I’d like to at least be able to work out. Working and working out are two different categories last time I checked.

But then again, with this printable coupon for a free Myoplex Shake, well, maybe it’ll be the answer I’ll need to really feel better? Or maybe I can just take a few Nyquil tablets and pass out? Hmmm… The latter sounds good right about now…

The past few weeks with all of these calendars that I’ve been requesting, I’ve been wondering what I’m going to do with them all. So while I’ve been cleaning off my desk in my stockroom at work, I keep thinking that something like this free 2011 Roadside in Bloom calendar might be nice. Especially on the days when that office is about 35 degrees and I can see my breath while I sit inside…

This free Just Like Sugar sample makes me a little sad. Sugar is getting a bad rap. I mean, remember when “Sugar We’re Going Down” was a cool song? Or if you called your sweetheart “Sugar” before leaving for the day? Or just turning to someone and saying “Gimme some sugar?”

But noOOoo. Now you’ve got stevia, Splenda, and so many other substitutes. I say we fight back!

Just like a distant dream, I remember the first time I found this free Tylenol Sleep kit. And as I clicked the submit button on it this time (I’d advise Internet Explorer over Firefox), I wished that it was here now. Because with a three day weekend and the chest congestion that I’ve got right about now? Sleep for 72 hours sounds just about right…

I dug up some old friends music from my college days and it really made me miss some lo-fi indie musicians. I mean, there’s something beautiful about one guy and a guitar. The chemistry, the moment. Yeah.

So I’m fairly excited about this free Utne Reader Music Sampler for November. I mean, after right clicking and downloading it all, the descriptions of the music makes me think of my college days. All I need are my fake-frat brothers and I’m good to go… ZKE in the house!

With a three day weekend from my day job ahead of me, I’m trying to reorganize myself so I feel like I have a grasp on things. I mean, seriously, how hard can it be to be organized? Things like highlighters and this free post-it samples make me feel like I should be organized, but even still? As many file folders as I keep around me, I just can’t get there.

I think I need to hire some monkeys. Trained monkeys. That should do it.
