Free Eco DrinkShield

Free Eco DrinkShield

EDIT: No longer available.

This free Eco DrinkShield looks like some sort of extra top that will help you reuse the same plastic bottle. Why would you want to do that? I’m told it’s to help save the environment. I guess that’s all good and true, but personally I do anything to cut down on the number of times I have to take the trash out.

Hey do what I do if you have a refrigerator with an ice machine and water dispenser then tap into the line and put in a filtration system costs me about $60.00 for both the filter tap in system and the filter. The filter last for a yr for a family of 8 they claim and cost me $35.00 for one filter a year. Works great!

  2. #2 Huh |

How is this any greener than not having one?

  3. #3 Rebeccah |

It’s greener because now Raymond doesn’t have to buy bottled water. He can refill resuable bottles with tasty filtered water and not throw away loads of plastic bottles.

I use brita filters, and fill the brita pitchers with water that is warming up for showers and doing dishes

    “Directions

First, choose from one of 3 thread sizes to fit your favorite bottle. Then, twist-on the Eco DrinkShield in place of the standard cap. Be sure to recycle the cap!

Since the Eco DrinkShield is totally sanitary, feel free to refill the bottle over and over.

When it’s time, your Eco DrinkShield is safe to wash in the dishwasher or clean with dishwashing liquid in hot water.

Now you and your Eco DrinkShield are ready to twist again.”

Uh, so forget the fact that the disposable BOTTLE is probably not safe to reuse?!? Very strange “green” product.

From all indications (various studies) it is just NOT SAFE to reuse the bottles anyway. There apparently is a chemical that seeps through the plastic bottle and into the water?? Then why doesn’t it happen to the water that comes in the bottle. IOW: Why is the first fill okay and the rest unsafe??

    It’s always something…..isn’t it??

    ..its always Marsha Marsha Marsha!

    *i know,lets just invent a reusable, dishwasher safe water bottle…oh wait…*

if i reuse a water bottle i could care less if the mouth piece is clean.I used it,it’s my germs.my germs would just get onto the new cap and end up just the same.not to be mean, but there are way easier ways to be green.

  11. #11 LOL |

that last comment is so true…lol. I don’t care if I get my own germs on my mouth if i reuse a disposable bottle, either…sounds like this is a waste of plastic

    hiffed

  13. #13 Maureen |

Yeah, but with theirs you just have to toss the little cap in the dishwasher, not the whole bottle so the backwash can fill your botttle with germs but the top will be germ free! So much greener and safer than using my stainless steel refillable water bottle and having to wash the entire bottle.

  14. #14 Paula |

I am soooo confused. What is wrong with the cap that came with the water bottle?
Why would you screw a new rim onto the bottle?

  15. #15 Rev Robin |

I’m afraid this “green freebie” makes absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL!!!!!

I don’t think these will EVER catch on and I will pray that someone with good intentions didn’t put their lifesavings into this idea!!

  16. #16 Dr Johnson |

NEVER! ever reuse plastic water bottles, they break down & it gets into your system if you keep resuing them don’t be cheap, use once an toss it!

  17. #17 Joe |

This contraption belongs in the same category as the pooper scooper for pets. Some people might buy them, most wouldn’t use it and don’t. Just like my thoughtful neighbors.

  18. #18 Joanna |

Joe: I use a pooper scooper for my back yard and always carry the disposable bags I get from my grocery produce to pick up dog poop during our walks.

This is really an odd freebie though…I agree with most. It is NOT good to re-use the common plastic water bottle that is probably not PBA free because 1) any plastic harbors bacteria and 2) even the durable plastic gets scratches etc and even a dishwasher really can’t get the bacteria out of it. Yuck. Better to go with the truly “green” water bottles made out of the aluminum.

  19. #19 mags |

joe: at least the pooper scooper makes it so i don’t have to touch poo.lol but i catch your drift.

  20. #20 Cyndi |

This has got to be the stupidest product I’ve ever seen.

free samples are gone now they want to sell them to you…thinking scam?!
