I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of delicious food. I can smell a taco from a mile away and nothing wakes me up in the morning like a ultra-large milkshake. Yet I must confused I never thought of combining the two. That is, until I saw the Del Taco birthday freebie offer. I signed up right before my birthday, so the offers overlapped. I think Ken Griffey Jr. summed it up best.

From the name alone, I have no idea what this will smell like. Therefore I’ll have to base my assumptions from the three pictures we get to choose from. Do I want to smell like a sunset, baby, or tree? I feel like I’m solving the one hand clapping riddle.

It’s a wooden, cubed version of a Magic 8 Ball minus any of the poisonous liquid that so many kids tried to drink. Or should I say so many kids in my family. You know what, let’s refine that statement a little and just say me. While we’re at it, change “tried to drink” to “Hello Mr. and Ms. Goob, I’m Dr. Stetson. I see your little one is back for another stomach pump.”

Social Goodies is a new daily deal site about to launch. In celebration, they are holding a contest where they’ll give away 100 free $50 Target gift cards. In addition, for every person who enters the contest, they’ll make a $1 donation to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund.

I was fully prepared to make fun of them because the last thing we need is another Groupon clone. Yet how can I ridicule a site giving away $5,000 in prizes and making donations to the Red Cross? Turns out I actually have some of those “standards” everybody is always talking about!

Smartsource is giving away one free pouch of Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice. An earlier draft of this post read “one free porch of rice,” which I think we all can agree would have been awesome.

Loads of people are trying to get this freebie right now, so their page is bogged down.

I hate to say it, but Fuddruckers is one of those places that seemed a lot better when I was younger and stupider. Well maybe just younger; I’m still an idiot today. But even though I’ve soured on their minuscular portions, it’s hard for me to turn down a Fuddruckers birthday freebie when it’s a free 1/3 lb. burger.

That’s big, right? I never did learn measurements. It’s partially to blame for all the misunderstood compliments I’ve tried to give people over the years.

I’m not sure exactly when, but at some time tomorrow, March 24, the first 200,000 people to signup will get a coupon for a free Suave Product via their Facebook page. You can follow them now if you want, but I’ll also update HIF’s Facebook page as soon as it goes live.

Of course, with almost half a million freebies available, you won’t need to be too fast. These should last for around 24 hours, so don’t fret about the giveaway being announced while you’re in a meeting or class. Although I imagine constantly refreshing HIF while your boss is giving a powerpoint presentation would be the perfect way to a promotion. It shows multitasking skills, right?
