This economy sucks, srsly. And if you needed to know otherwise, well, look at it this way: in the 1930’s, if you had $.60 in your bank account, you’d have enough money to eat for at least a day and probably buy a newspaper. Yesterday morning, my wife and I went to Panera before she had an eye appointment. And just after one small hazelnut coffee from them, I felt like I could run faster than a speeding bullet and stop train cars.

So I wonder how I’d feel after drinking all of this free Cuisinart coffee sample? I guess my caffeine tolerance is going down again seeing I’m not drinking three energy drinks a day…

Whenever I see the Fiber One commercials, I think of just eating a cardboard box. Just like in the commercials. I guess, though, its not as bad as they make it out to be or something. Or if it was, maybe they’re just trying to brainwash us all with these free samples of their new products with coupons. I don’t know about you, but when I get coupons, it makes everything better.

This morning while watching the news they were announcing this and I looked down at my clock. Wow, 7:11AM on 7/11. Can’t beat talking about 7/11’s 7.11 ounce free Slurpees today at exactly 7:11AM on 7/11.

Just, don’t wait till 7:11PM on 7/11, because then you won’t be able to hit up all of the participating 7/11 stores in your area for your free 7.11 ounce Slurpee.

I think the only year this could have been cooler in would have been Ye Ole Middle Ages on 7/11/711. I mean, seriously. How cool would the Medieval Bloggers be back then? I’d imagine something like this:

A friend of mine told me about this one in class and after hearing about it? Oh man, this might be the coolest free service that I’ve heard of in a long time.

ChaCha is a text messaging service that if you have a question? You just ask them. Just text your question to 242242 and they’ll send you a text message with the answer within the next few minutes (varies with the time of day). Believe me, I asked them about woodchucks chucking wood, airspeed of unladen swallows (african AND european), and George Carlin’s certain family unfriendly words. And I got good answers back. Of course, I did ask some serious questions tonight too, but those are never the fun ones… You can also get weather and stocks from them too for wherever you happen to be.

The online aspect is cool as well. You register and tell them your cell phone and then online you can access your most recent questions if you happen to be away from your phone as well as ask questions from your computer too.

Needless to say, standard text messaging rates apply, but it makes a good time killer when you’re running around on the go and need to know information… Or if you really needed to know things about swallows…

I feel like I’ve been in out of space between my homework and following and writing about politics, but this one really takes the cake.

You can actually send your name to the moon. I mean, really, how cool is that? And they give you an immediate nice looking certificate that you can print up at home.

So what can you do if you’re a teacher or have kids to motivate? Well, I’d put their names in on this and then bring the PDF files that you get from the certificates to Kinkos and put them on some nice paper for them. Now THAT’s a cool incentive for kids, if you ask me…

Growing up I remember Koala Yummys. Remember those? Cracker/cookies with the chocolate filling? And then came along Teddy Grahams and instead of having a bear that would bleed chocolate when you bit its head off, you just had a shaped graham cracker. But it was a bear! Mornin’ folks… Wow, its been a while since I’ve posted. Or so it feels to me. You could probably track it back a week or two, I think. Anyways, with finals coming up pretty fast for me, I’ve been running around like crazy, finding anything I can with caffeine in it. Seriously. I just tried the Aquafina Alive Energize Water last night to no avail… Of course, after two days of bad energy drink backlash two weeks back, I’m still on the stuff like white on rice…

So when I opened up my Newzie feedreader this morning and found that Starbucks is giving away a free 8oz cup of their new Pikes Place Roast right on MSNBC, well, I had to come here and post it. And then, it got even better because I was beaten. Apparently in today’s USA Today (4/8/2008), there’s a card to get free tall cup of this same roast every wednesday from now through May 28th. Continuing along with my free download offering from the other days, I’d like to share another personal favorite musician of mine who has a ton of awesome free downloads on their site. Steven Foxbury. Just head over to the third dot on the site there and its for the music page, and there are 2 EPs and 1 LP worth of music, all available for your listening pleasure.

I’ve been lucky enough to see Steve open for 7M3 twice, and each time I see him, he gets better and better. A great lyricist and all around enjoyable listen.

And if you like that, well, I’m still surfing, but I’ve found a few other artists here or there that I might have to start sharing full free downloads from the musicians themselves. Some musicians allow it, others don’t. Just need to keep your eye out to find a few of them…

And not only have they released it, but you can also buy it via the lovely sliding scale model that so many musicians are using nowadays.
