You’ve got until Saturday, October 31 to use the coupon and the fine print says nothing about making an additional purchase.* So if your kid looks especially cute in their costume this year (and come on, how can they not?), you might want to take advantage of this.

Free Pampers Extra Protection Diapers

The site for these free Pampers Extra Protection diapers via Walmart have these little stars that are … twinkling? I guess. It’s kind of a flickering to me; as if they need to have their light bulbs changed.

They only have size 4 and 5 available, so these are for giant babies or average-sized kids who are a bit older.

I have no idea what a Frankenstring magic trick kit is, but that’s what they’re building at the next free Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic this Saturday, October 24 from 10-11am. Anybody with half a brain knows that magic is fantastic, so this should be a fun little toy to build. I just wish I could actually do some magic. I always end up picking the wrong card or setting my sleeve on fire.

With Christmas approaching faster than I’d like, it’s time to start thinking about presents and looking for coupons we can use. Because if there’s one thing I learned last year, I’m too old to give out “One Free Hug” coupons as gifts.

Disney has a free rewards program where you find and enter codes that earn you points which can be redeemed for prizes. We have a thread on the forums where we’re beginning to collect any codes we find, but to get everybody started, here are five codes that collectively will earn 105 points:

Oh man, not these again! My sister has these free PETA stickers for kids and every time I go home, I have to see them and be reminded of how cute animals are. You know, it’s really hard to eat meat when you’re constantly being reminded of where it comes from. THANK GOODNESS! Every time I visit home, I bring along any Box Tops For Education I’ve recently collected. Yet every time I go to pack them, I notice that only a quarter made it in the Ziploc bag I use while the rest are scattered throughout my junk drawer. Heck, whenever I’m digging through my tupperware cabinet (which is underneath my junk drawer), I find five or six freaking box tops codes. I don’t even know how they get down there or what my siblings’ schools use these for, but now there’s a free collection bin that I can sign up for in exchange for joining their newsletter.

Holy moly, that flu was evil! I apologize for taking off in the middle of the week, but here’s a secret: I’m a big wimp. As soon as my temperature hits 100, I curl up in the fetal position, suck my thumb, and start crying out for my mommy. It’s also what I do when confronted with physical violence or spiders, but that’s beside the point. I’m a semi-functioning human again, so back to the freebies and thanks to everybody who sent in their regards over the past few days!

Usually their links just reload the current page. I don’t know what they’re doing over there at StartSampling, but they’re making me look like a genius.¹

Ah, yes, teachers can sign up for the free kit which comes with “tools they need to bring fitness and nutrition education into the classroom.” I haven’t been able to find out what exactly is in the kit, but then again I’m not a teacher. The state still won’t certify my license even though I teacher people how to get freebies every day!

Free Admission to Disney for Volunteering

Disney announced on Good Morning America yesterday that if you spend a day volunteering with a participating organization, then starting on January 1, 2010 you can get a free one-day admission to Disney World or Disneyland. They haven’t released a list of the participating groups yet, but if you think you might want to take part in the offer, they suggest signing up for e-mail alerts which will let you know when pre-registration starts since ticket quantities are limited.

A maximum of 8 family member can participate and children must be at least 6 years old to qualify. So you could theoretically get a free day of admission for the entire family during your next vacation. Not too shabby! Although I’m not too sure I ever want to ride It’s A Small World again. It creeped me out when I was 4, it somehow got even creepier when I was 10, and I don’t want to risk seeing what’s it’s become now!

Holy. Crap. A fifth in-store freebie for tomorrow? Am I being punk’d? Sure, Toys Backwards-R Us is hosting a free Geoffrey’s Birthday Party this Saturday, September 26, from 12-3 pm. There will be a birthday parade, activities and free giveaways. But this just doesn’t seem right. Five in-store freebies on the same day has never happened before and frankly, I’m scared. I’m pretty sure this was one of the ancient Mayans predictions of the impending Armageddon.

Free Safety Around Dogs Video

Umm…folks, we’ve got a problem here. The very first sentence on the site for this free Safety Around Dogs video states “Children and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly.” I hate to ask, but I think somebody needs to. Who’s eating children and dog sandwiches? Isn’t this sort of, maybe, potentially a crime and worth looking into? Why are we being so nonchalant about our nations dwindling children and dog population? Am I the only person worried here?

The video is designed for children in grades K-6 and is offered to teachers, librarians, youth group leaders, animal control officers, animal shelters, veterinarians and community and civic leaders. I act big and tough, but anybody who gets this free youth hunting license from Meijer could probably kick my butt. I one time accidentally killed a fish and spent months in therapy. If I was ever transported back in time to a hunter-gatherer society, I’d last approximately 8.4 seconds before being eaten by a bear.

The coupon is valid until September 26 and says there’s a maximum value of $15, which is…good? Bad? I have no idea how much hunting licenses cost and a Google search produced a picture of a dead moose, which brought on the waterworks. Uh-oh, here they come again just thinking about it. I need to get away from my laptop before it gets wet!

Seven Free Childrens Audio Books

Am I the only adult who will listen to these seven free children’s audio books while driving around thanks in part to the British voice they’re being read in? You could hire a British speaker to read the phone book and I’d not only want to listen, but feel as if I should wear a tuxedo in keeping with the elegance of the occasion.

The stories are a bit on the short side, but they might be useful for driving around town and doing errands.
