The third and final round for Kodak’s free $15 gift code started yesterday and will be available to the first 100,000 people to sign up. Unfortunately, the discount doesn’t apply to shipping and you can’t receive another free $15 if you got one during the first two rounds. However, a slew of new readers have discovered HIF recently and many Hiffers commented on the last post and mentioned that they got some great items for little more than the cost of shipping, including a family photo book, Christmas ornaments and photo cards, and personalized coffee mugs.

I finally settled on what to get my mom as a gift, but since she reads HIF, I can’t say what it is. Okay, fine, I’ll tell you *lowers voice to a whisper* it’s the coffee mug!

Folks, I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is that the free monthly Redbox rental code program has now changed. Users are texted a unique code that is only valid for one-time uses only, which means the code they sent me this morning cannot be shared like months past.

However, Redbox also has an official Facebook group and an official Twitter account, where they posted the same code. I just got back from using it at two different Redbox kiosks, so it’s clearly not a one-use only code. Thus, we shall rejoice in the fact that I have no life and was able to spend an hour confirming today’s code of TEGJ6FD. Also, thanks goes to Tracy on HIF’s Facebook page for tipping me off on this.

Yesterday, Oprah gave away a coupon for 50% off any Payless shoes and it’s only valid for today, Friday, October 30. I just forwarded this to my brother, as his current shoes have more duct tape than actual shoe. It does have some benefits though. The last time we were out together, I didn’t have money for the parking meter and he happened to have $0.35 stuck to his soles!

Many Walgreens have Brita water pitchers on clearance for $8.49 right now. When purchased, they give out $3 in Register Rewards for a future purchase and there’s also a printable $5 coupon for any Brita system which brings the final price down to $0.49!

In order to get the coupon, look for a link in the “Go Green, Save Green” box. You’ll have to signup on the site for a free account and then you’ll be prompted to print out the coupon. Also, some people have mentioned that their local Walgreens were already sold out of the Brita, so you might want to call ahead.

It turns out that today is not only free KFC and awesome Boston Market deal day, but it’s also World Pasta Day. In celebration, Buca di Beppo (heh heh, that’s fun to say) is giving away free spaghetti with any entree or pasta purchase today, Monday, October 26! Their restaurant locations are a bit scattered, but if you have one nearby, I’d consider taking up this offer not only for the free spaghetti, but because they’ll also send home with you a free package of Rummo pasta.

Pocket Your Dollars put together a nice post of Office Max deals available this week, including a few items that you can get for free after MaxPerks Bonus Rewards. MaxPerks are Office Max’s version of a rewards program and are only available to businesses and schools, but they’re pretty lax on registration. For instance, I signed up for a business account for my home office, which pretty much anybody can claim to have.

If you’re thinking about making any semi-big purchases in October, you may want to consider taking this fairly long survey in exchange for a free month subscription to ConsumerReports.org. They’re a non-profit consumer agency that reviews everything from digital cameras to lawnmowers to dishwashers and they’re quite blunt if a product is superb, average, or downright atrocious. Kinda like me. I’m not afraid to tell it like it is! Just as long as it doesn’t bother anybody. I wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings.

I personally didn’t take this survey, as I already have a subscription with them, but others have said it’s a bit on the long side. Still, it’s a good deal if you want a second opinion before buying something.

Tara over at Deal Seeking Mom recently posted that her local Wendy’s had a coupon booklet on sale for $1. In exchange, you get 10 free Jr. Frosty coupons valid between 11/1/09 and 2/1/10! This is obviously an in-store freebie and your location may not be selling them, but both my brother in South Carolina and myself in Virginia were able to buy them at our local spots. Some people have mentioned that they give out the coupons to kids Trick or Treating, but I do see one small problem with that – you won’t get any free Frostys for yourself

If you’re a frequent patron of McDonald’s and have children 12-years and younger, you might want to be on the lookout for a Coupon Book the next time you grab a burger. They’re selling for $1 and in exchange, you get three copies of the following coupons: free baked pie, free small apple juice or milk jug, free small cone, and free apple dippers or small fries. The 12 coupons don’t expire until 12/31/2011, which means I have over a year to figure out how to make myself look like a child so that I can swing some free food!
