EDIT: It’s November 3rd now, so this code is no longer valid.

Folks, I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is that the free monthly Redbox rental code program has now changed. Users are texted a unique code that is only valid for one-time uses only, which means the code they sent me this morning cannot be shared like months past.

However, Redbox also has an official Facebook group and an official Twitter account, where they posted the same code. I just got back from using it at two different Redbox kiosks, so it’s clearly not a one-use only code. Thus, we shall rejoice in the fact that I have no life and was able to spend an hour confirming today’s code of TEGJ6FD. Also, thanks goes to Tracy on HIF’s Facebook page for tipping me off on this.

As always, the code expires tonight at midnight CST. If you’re new to Redbox, check out the Redbox Explanation Guide that covers all the basics of how to use the free rental codes as well as some personal tips & tricks I’ve discovered to help maximize your freebie movies.

It’s literally a magic pot – I throw in a bunch of raw ingredients in the morning and by dinner time, I have something edible and tasty. Why don’t we have more devices like this in our lives?

To get the recipe book, enter your e-mail address in the box that pops up on the first page and then select the option to skip straight to the recipe book. I didn’t print mine out since it’s 50 pages long, but I did print one or two recipes that I’ll try this week.

That’s a pretty bold statement, if you ask me. The best in the entire Universe?! How do you know there isn’t another intelligent species out there with music that’s so relaxing it instantly puts you to sleep? You can’t! Well, either that, or Amazon knows something I don’t.

The album has 15 songs and includes some popular ones, such as Claire De Lune, Fur Elise, and Canon In D. Plus, Amazon still has over 1,400 free songs, which is 200 more than last month. Between that and my favorite streaming radio station, I haven’t heard the same song in months!

One of the offers that started while I was busy sleeping last week was Kellogg’s new $10 Bonus Bucks promotion. You have until 09/30/10 to do the following:

Buy three (3) specially marked boxes of Kellogg’s® cereal and collect the codes inside each box.

Enter codes at Kellogg Bonus Bucks.

Receive your $10 Bonus Bucks certificate by mail.

Redeem your certificate at a variety of participating retailers.

So basically buy three boxes of cereal and get a $10 giftcard that can be used at certain stores like Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, and more. Not too bad, especially considering that I go through three boxes of Frosted Mini-Wheats a day. I only eat a bowl every morning, but I use the rest to throw at people walking in front of my apartment every day. Makes for a perfect way to pass the time and let your neighbors know what you think of them!

The four participating cereals are Frosted Flakes, Froot (sic) Loops, Mini-Wheats and Raisin Bran. Also, Redplum has a $1.50/2 coupon for Mini-Wheats that can be applied towards this!

It’s official – the flu has ravaged the Goob household. It looks like a war zone out there: Kleenex scattered everywhere, half empty glasses of juice on every flat surface, and then the zombies. They’re supposedly humans that I once knew and loved, but judging from their current moans and wheezes, the only logical conclusion is that they want my delicious brain. I tried leaving my hermetically sealed bedroom to give this free Redbox rental code of QNGJ7KD as a peace offering, but their response was a cacophony of sneezes that I interpreted as an attack order.

Umm…folks, we’ve got a problem here. The very first sentence on the site for this free Safety Around Dogs video states “Children and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly.” I hate to ask, but I think somebody needs to. Who’s eating children and dog sandwiches? Isn’t this sort of, maybe, potentially a crime and worth looking into? Why are we being so nonchalant about our nations dwindling children and dog population? Am I the only person worried here?

The video is designed for children in grades K-6 and is offered to teachers, librarians, youth group leaders, animal control officers, animal shelters, veterinarians and community and civic leaders. In order to get it, simply e-mail orderdesk@akc.org and include your name, school or affiliation (for example, the Boys and Girls Club), mailing address and daytime phone.

Then I picked up this free Kate Walsh Acoustic EP. The three songs on her album are $0.99 individually, but free if you download the entire album, so…that makes sense? Something tells me whoever set those prices didn’t quite think it all the way through.

This Smile Pinki DVD is not only free, but it also won a 2008 Oscar for Best Short Documentary. What you might not realize is that it beat out the movie I entered for Oscar consideration that year. It was titled The Real Goob and was an expose on how difficult a blogger lifestyle can be. The gripping footage included an infected paper cut I got while opening the mail and a cramp in my wrist that was suffered after typing for 10 minutes straight! The masterpiece was capped off with the Great Freebie Drought of Aught Seven, where for a week I couldn’t find anything worthy of posting and instead took a nap every day.

Man, just thinking about those hardships makes my palms sweaty!

EDIT: What the what? ALL THREE freebies that I posted today are now dead? Shouldn’t this have been in my horoscope or something?

This free Carfax Report offer is more of a playful freebie unless you’re in the market to purchase a car. I used my free report to look up my truck and was told that the odometer had potentially been tampered. Yeah, it’s my fault the makers only put five digits on the display so that after 99,999 it simply rolled over. Furthermore, I can’t believe I was caught! As soon as the first 100,000 were put on it, I raced around the country to secretly put on another 100,000 without anybody being any the wiser!

You know, I probably shouldn’t be telling this to tens of thousands of people. I’d make a horrible evil scientist.

It might be worth scooping up a bunch of them for later even if you’re not looking for anything new to read now.

I know some of my friends complain that reading books and newspapers on an electronic device is sacrilege and I sort of agree. However, as I recently packed to move, I realized I owned enough books to fill the Ancient Library of Alexandria. Captain Beatty would fry me alive if he discovered my hoard. I’d probably thank him too. Just the thought of moving them again is giving me a hernia.

The credit will be applied to your account and most songs are only $0.99, so you can actually get a song and a third for free!

Amazon is also running an offer this month of 50 different albums for only $5. They have albums from bands like the Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, John Coltrane, The Roots, Willie Nelson, Gloriana, Marie Digby, Crystal Method, Fabolous and Shinedown. So…pretty much something for everybody. It might be worth checking out if you’re a music buff. Check out the banner below for more info.

My phone just chirped alive to deliver this month’s free Redbox rental code, 27HZ4KT, which is valid until midnight CST. When I used my code last month, there happened to be four or five people in line with me. I decided to speak up and mention the code out loud, which most of them thanked me for. However, one guy started screaming at me as if I’d sold state secrets to China. As I dodged spittle projectiles inbound for my head, he <del datetime="2009-08-03T14:57:26+00:00">politely explained</del> berated me that the only reason he was there was because his daughter had sent him the code, but now it was going to be “useless because of all you damn hippies!”

I hope I don’t run into him again today.

If you happen to have a kiosk nearby, you can get a free Blockbuster Express movie rental by using the code CKVPX9A7, which is valid through July 27. If you miss out on that, you can use code CKVPX9B7 between July 27 and August 10 for a “rent one DVD, get one free” deal.

Good luck finding a kiosk, though. From my quick glance, I think most of them are in Florida with a few in other large cities (San Jose, Houston, OKC, Dayton, etc). I’m just hope Blockbuster’s foray into movie kiosks will get Redbox to bring back their weekly free DVD rental codes. This once-a-month deal just isn’t cutting it for me!

Wait, is that the right code *double checks his cell phone* yeah, that’s it. It hasn’t happened yet, but you better beleive I’m knocking on wood like crazy right now.
