Folks, I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is that the free monthly Redbox rental code program has now changed. Users are texted a unique code that is only valid for one-time uses only, which means the code they sent me this morning cannot be shared like months past.

However, Redbox also has an official Facebook group and an official Twitter account, where they posted the same code. I just got back from using it at two different Redbox kiosks, so it’s clearly not a one-use only code. Thus, we shall rejoice in the fact that I have no life and was able to spend an hour confirming today’s code of TEGJ6FD. Also, thanks goes to Tracy on HIF’s Facebook page for tipping me off on this.

To get the recipe book, enter your e-mail address in the box that pops up on the first page and then select the option to skip straight to the recipe book. I didn’t print mine out since it’s 50 pages long, but I did print one or two recipes that I’ll try this week.

You have to sign up for a free account, but there’s no software to download. Just log in and start downloading whatever you want.

The album has 15 songs and includes some popular ones, such as Claire De Lune, Fur Elise, and Canon In D. Plus, Amazon still has over 1,400 free songs, which is 200 more than last month. Between that and my favorite streaming radio station, I haven’t heard the same song in months!

One of the offers that started while I was busy sleeping last week was Kellogg’s new $10 Bonus Bucks promotion. You have until 09/30/10 to do the following:

• Buy three (3) specially marked boxes of Kellogg’s® cereal and collect the codes inside each box.
• Enter codes at Kellogg Bonus Bucks.
• Receive your $10 Bonus Bucks certificate by mail.
• Redeem your certificate at a variety of participating retailers.

So basically buy three boxes of cereal and get a $10 giftcard that can be used at certain stores like Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, and more. Not too bad, especially considering that I go through three boxes of Frosted Mini-Wheats a day. I only eat a bowl every morning, but I use the rest to throw at people walking in front of my apartment every day. Makes for a perfect way to pass the time and let your neighbors know what you think of them!

The four participating cereals are Frosted Flakes, Froot (sic) Loops, Mini-Wheats and Raisin Bran. Also, Redplum has a $1.50/2 coupon for Mini-Wheats that can be applied towards this!

It’s official – the flu has ravaged the Goob household. It looks like a war zone out there: Kleenex scattered everywhere, half empty glasses of juice on every flat surface, and then the zombies. They’re supposedly humans that I once knew and loved, but judging from their current moans and wheezes, the only logical conclusion is that they want my delicious brain. I tried leaving my hermetically sealed bedroom to give this free Redbox rental code of QNGJ7KD as a peace offering, but their response was a cacophony of sneezes that I interpreted as an attack order.

There’s also another new free code, which is SMR8DVD, but this one only works at McDonald’s.

The video is designed for children in grades K-6 and is offered to teachers, librarians, youth group leaders, animal control officers, animal shelters, veterinarians and community and civic leaders. In order to get it, simply e-mail orderdesk@akc.org and include your name, school or affiliation (for example, the Boys and Girls Club), mailing address and daytime phone.

This free Carfax Report offer is more of a playful freebie unless you’re in the market to purchase a car. I used my free report to look up my truck and was told that the odometer had potentially been tampered. Yeah, it’s my fault the makers only put five digits on the display so that after 99,999 it simply rolled over. Furthermore, I can’t believe I was caught! As soon as the first 100,000 were put on it, I raced around the country to secretly put on another 100,000 without anybody being any the wiser!

You know, I probably shouldn’t be telling this to tens of thousands of people. I’d make a horrible evil scientist.

The stories are a bit on the short side, but they might be useful for driving around town and doing errands.

I know some of my friends complain that reading books and newspapers on an electronic device is sacrilege and I sort of agree. However, as I recently packed to move, I realized I owned enough books to fill the Ancient Library of Alexandria. Captain Beatty would fry me alive if he discovered my hoard. I’d probably thank him too. Just the thought of moving them again is giving me a hernia.

Amazon is also running an offer this month of 50 different albums for only $5. They have albums from bands like the Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, John Coltrane, The Roots, Willie Nelson, Gloriana, Marie Digby, Crystal Method, Fabolous and Shinedown. So…pretty much something for everybody. It might be worth checking out if you’re a music buff. Check out the banner below for more info.

I love the idea of Cellfire, but none of the participating grocery stores are near me. However, after seeing that they’d updated their list of coupons this morning, I had a look and realized that a Kroger store opened up just down the road. Score!

If you’re new to Cellfire, basically what you do is tie your grocery store rewards card to your Cellfire account. Then you can “load” coupons directly onto your rewards card and when you scan the card while checking out, the coupons will automatically be applied to your purchase. They also have various offers that you can load directly on your cell phone, though the value of those offers will depend on where you live.

Good luck finding a kiosk, though. From my quick glance, I think most of them are in Florida with a few in other large cities (San Jose, Houston, OKC, Dayton, etc). I’m just hope Blockbuster’s foray into movie kiosks will get Redbox to bring back their weekly free DVD rental codes. This once-a-month deal just isn’t cutting it for me!

Wait, is that the right code *double checks his cell phone* yeah, that’s it. I’m always worried I’ll mess up a number or letter when I’m transcribing it and then I’ll get hundreds of emails from angry Hiffers. It hasn’t happened yet, but you better beleive I’m knocking on wood like crazy right now.
