If you signed up for the free Marlboro t-shirt offer a few weeks back, I’ve got good news – my shirt arrived this weekend, so be on the lookout for yours. For everybody else, I’ve got even better news! Marlboro is giving away $1,000,000 to charities that help preserve the environment and if you vote for your charity of choice, you’ll get a free portable litter device that looks as if it’s for cigarettes. Now I don’t smoke and yes, since this is a tobacco company giving away the freebie, you’ll have to sign up for an account using your driver’s license info. However, I’m all for keeping cigarette butts off the side of the road, so it’s a HIF endorsed freebie.

If you’re having trouble finding it, click on “stand for your brand,” then “make it count,” before finally selecting a cause to support. The litter device offer will then be displayed.

In honor of National Parks Day and the new Ken Burns film that start this weekend, the National Park Service is offering free admission to all 391 national parks this Saturday, September 26. I probably won’t be able to participate, but I did the next best thing last night; I spent an hour on the NPS site and read about a few dozen parks. Sure, it’s not the same as actually visiting, but it has significantly fewer mosquitoes and poison ivy patches.

If you’re not sure where your nearest park is, then this might help.

I one time accidentally killed a fish and spent months in therapy. If I was ever transported back in time to a hunter-gatherer society, I’d last approximately 8.4 seconds before being eaten by a bear.

The coupon is valid until September 26 and says there’s a maximum value of $15, which is…good? Bad? I have no idea how much hunting licenses cost and a Google search produced a picture of a dead moose, which brought on the waterworks. Uh-oh, here they come again just thinking about it. I need to get away from my laptop before it gets wet!

Last summer, a few forum users and myself put the finishing touches on our massive free Museum Admissions page. Look at that sucker! It literally took us a few months to put together and I was in no hurry to start another list soon thereafter, but I recently decided to start another project. After thinking it over, I settled on compiling a list of the 244 National Parks that offer free admission on a regular basis. Yet as luck would have it, today I read that the National Park Service is throwing open the gates to the other 147 National Parks that charge money, thus giving free admission to all 391 parks on June 20-21, July 18-19, and August 15-16.

Talk about making my job obsolete. It’s only a matter of time before a company in Japan develops a freebie-finding robot who can do my job 24/7 and for half the price. And I work for free!

I like to instead focus on all the improvements I’ve made over the years.

EDIT: I just realized that Adam posted this a few weeks back. My bad! I know today was kind of crummy freebie-wise, but I’ve got a post in the works for later tonight that should make up for it!

Campbell’s soup is giving away free tomato seeds to anybody who has purchased some condensed soup recently. All you have to do is type in the code on the bottom of the can and they’ll send you the seeds. If you don’t have any Campbell’s lying around, try the codes below as they might work. I found the site to be a tad glitchy – I had to type in my code two or three times before it was finally accepted.

Code1: XD Code2: 01 Type: Tomato

Code1: CU Code2: 01 Type: Tomato

Code1: CT Code2: 26 Type: Cream of Mushroom

Code1: P5 Code2: 03 Type: Cream of Chicken

If none of the codes above work, you might want to pick up a can the next time you’re at the store and have a look at the code since this offer is valid for a few more months Also, note that the codes are case sensitive. These darn seeds better be worth it!

[via Michele - thanks!]

You know what’s going to be here before we even know it? Travel time! I was reminded by this fact when I saw a California state tourism commercial last night and that got me to wondering what each state offers in the way of free state maps and travel guides. Coupled with our free museum admissions list (which is actually fully completed now!), your summer trips might now be a bit more fun and free!

I linked to the official travel guide for each state below. As a fail-safe, I then provided a link to each state’s DOT page if their travel guide didn’t explicitly say it came with a highway map. Here’s to never getting lost again!

Free Alabama State Map – This is the first .travel website I’ve ever seen. Cool.

Free Alaska State Map – Here’s the first case of “so, does this come with a map?” (dot map)

Free Arizona State Map – What exactly is Old West activities? Like riding around on a horse and shooting pistols in the air? Arizona, here I come!

Free Arkansas State Map – They have a plethora of travel guides and kits, including golfing, hiking, and fishing guides, calendar of events, and even a Living in Arkansas guide for those considering moving there. Wait, where are you going?

Free California State Map – I would have been ticked had they not offered some free maps, considering the fact that I see their freaking tourism commercial every 10 minutes.

Free Colorado State Map – Colorado’s official state slogan: Let’s Talk. Aw crap, they’re breaking up with us!

Free Connecticut State Map – Or not. Their tourism site is a bit gilded. Not only do they not offer a travel guide, but I couldn’t find any official state maps. The best I could come up with was this printable highway map.

Free Delaware State Map – Looks like you might have to call in order for a copy to be sent to you. Their DOT version has three different bicycle maps as well as the official tourism map, so I might just go with that instead. (dot map)

Free Florida State Map – I like the random experts they have on the sidebar. My favorite is the Authentic Florida Expert, who pretty much looks like everyone’s grandma.

Free Georgia State Map – I think the travel guide has one, but I know their DOT will send up to two free state maps. If I know Georgia, they’ll also send you a peach. (dot map)

Free Hawaii State Map – <del datetime="2009-10-16T01:27:55+00:00">Doesn’t exist.</del> Hiffer Kenny sent in the link for their state tourism guide, which should have a map in it.

Free Idaho State Map – Judging by their governors name alone (C.L. “Butch” Otter), he could probably beat up any other governor out there. You just know he wears a cowboy hat…and checking their website…yep!

Free Illinois State Map – You can request up to 25 free state maps at the DOT site, which is 24 more than I need. I only include that link because the DOT maps come in large print. (dot map)

Free Indiana State Map – They have a ton of different maps and guides available, one being a state museum map that would go deliciously well with our free museum admission list!

Free Iowa State Map – Does anyone get excited about seeing a bunch of corn?

Free Kansas State Map – Quick, can you name three cities in Kansas?! Neither could I.

Free Kentucky State Map – Their state logo is by far the best I’ve seen yet.

Free Louisiana State Map – Their DOT page redirects to this page for a free map, so I assume the travel guide comes with one.

Free New Hampshire State Map – I must admit, new Hampshire has a pimped out website travel website.

Free Pennsylvania State Map – Wow. At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a link to PA’s official Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube accounts. I didn’t check them all, but their Twitter account is pretty darn active.

Free Rhode Island State Map – For a state with such a small map, they’re kind of stingy about giving them away for free. I wasn’t sure if the travel guide came with a map, but their DOT doesn’t give any maps away, so fingers crossed.

Free South Carolina State Map – Home state, represent! Don’t be fooled by the domain name, it’s legit. We’re a sneaky bunch, just ask Major Robert Anderson.

Free Washington State Map – As a Mariners fan and frequent traveler to the Pacific Northwest, I must say I absolutely love this section of the world.

Wow, that took a lot longer than I thought it would. I need a vacation.

EDIT: So I see Adam beat me to this one yesterday. My bad!

This free Hershy’s Fastrack to Sports kit is designed to be used as a motivational tool to get kids up and moving. It comes with a DVD, starter guide, and some legends of Track & Field trading cards that might be helpful to some of you parents or teachers out there. I haven’t the slightest idea how at age 25 I’m about to utter these words, but in my day being active was never a problem! Sure we had home movies and video games too, but easily 90% of my childhood memories are of me and my buddy Alex getting into trouble outside.

In fact, I think I should be the next spokesman for any DVD encouraging kids to play outside. Some of the activities I could demonstrate include throwing water balloons into open bedroom windows, chopping down trees to make bridges across creeks, and my personal favorite of building snowballs so big, they take up the entire road! Hollywood, my agent is awaiting your call.

EDIT: Looks like we killed it. We need to come up with a verb for this effect. Hiffed to death?

It should come as no surprise that I watch a lot of TV. And while I enjoy Samantha Brown’s Weekends, the one show I can never bring myself to watch is 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. I don’t know what it is about it, but maybe its because I’d actually want to see them and not watch someone else seeing them? Who knows.

Well now, I can get a free copy of the book 1,000 Places To See Before You Die by just putting in the code EMQAGE. And then? When I’m a bazillionaire from all of the money that I’m saving by getting all of these freebies (and not buying shampoo, might I add!)? I’ll have a guidebook for my own TV show.

I’d just need Goob to come along and we could have real life adventures of Goobman and Boy Adam… Even though I’ve got him beat on the age thing by a week…

I saw this offer for free seeds on a few other freebie sites earlier this week, but I passed over it because I thought it was pretty stupid. Why would I want seeds now when the leaves are already falling off the trees in my front yard? Then on a whim I went to their site and read the <strike>fine print</strike> strikingly obvious statement that they’ll be sending these out come next spring.

For those of you scoring at home, it’s Goob’s Competency: 8 vs. Goob Not Following Directions and Lacking Basic Reading Skills: 9 bajillion.

Yep, you read that headline correctly. In celebration of Arbor Day, you can get a free tree mailed to you to plant in your yard! Despite the website looking like it was built back in the late 90s, some people on the forums can vouch for it as they got trees from them last year. Unfortunately for me, I probably won’t be getting this as there’ll be no room for a tree in my yard. I’m not going to have even a single tree in mine. No grass, either! As a kid, I hated mowing the lawn, so I vowed that when I grew up, I’d get a yard with astroturf and just vacuum it from time to time. You know, on second though, maybe that’s not the smartest idea I’ve ever had.

EDIT: No longer available!

So it’s the new year already, which means that most people will be taking down their Christmas lights soon if they haven’t already. Although, if it was up to me, I’d just leave them up year round and just not turn them on. Then again, I think we now know why it’s not up to me So guys, let me paint a picture for you. Back in late November, the misses thought it’s be a great idea to put some lights up on the roof and after almost falling to your death at least seven or eight times, you got the lights up. Kudos! But now, it’s time to take them down and you have to go right back up there. Doh! So you get up on the roof, you pull out a screwdriver to start prying the staples loose, and just like that it falls out of your hands and onto the ground. Now you have to climb back down, probably reposition the ladder after realizing it wasn’t level to begin with, and then climb back up. Sounds like fun, huh? No, no it’s doesn’t. Well if you had this free Werner Tool Lasso, which clips to your belt, you wouldn’t have to worry about this happening to you! Gentlemen, you can thank me later in the form of power tools, beer, or power tools that shoot out beer.
