How many times have you been at a bar and had some creepy person try and get your number? Or needed to have somebody call you, but you don't want to give them your real number? Well Private Phone gives you a free phone number with voicemail that stays active for a while, so just give out that number to people and then check whatever messages they left you! When you're done, just discard the number!

I didn't think this might be useful till now... But I have to +1 and pimp this.
I'm looking for a subleaser for my apartment, and I didn't want to give out my cell phone number, especially because where I'd be posting it? Yeah, a lot of people whom I wouldn't want calling/harassing me on a regular basis would get it.
But now, PrivatePhone lets me have a number for people to call, and not have to worry about it being my own. :D

Well that sucks. The company they're transferring it over to turns it into a real phone line at $19.95 or something like that. I saw a dollar sign and just clicked off of it... Meh.
