This cost about $4 to make, but last more then 1 bottle of febreeze.

1 1/2-4 tablespoons ultra downy clean breeze fabric softener
25 ounces water
32 ounces spray bottle, new and clean (please don't re-use a cleaning product bottle unless it is an old Frebreeze bottle)

1. Put Downy and water in bottle and spray on furniture, carpeting, pillows, shower curtains...etc... To do a fabric test, spray small amount in an area where it cannot be seen.

That's neat! I never thought about it but it makes sense, and is nice to know. I've found the new water bottles at the dollar store before, the last one I bought (cost $1) and works great. I use it on the plants to mist them with plain ol water

I should have noted the $4 is for the cost of the bottle, and the fabric softener.

It could be less depending on what softener you get. Right now I am stuck on downy. But I imagine you can use any softener you like. You can get a spray bottle usually for $1 or under.

Thanks so much for the tip, it sounds so easy. I will send it to my sister who uses Febreeze because of her pets, cat and a dog.

I am sure she will be happy to save some money!

Be careful using this.. I remember my friend's mom used to do this all the time. The walls in his house were really sticky and gross, but he always smelled like fresh laundry! haha.

What a good idea, I bet this could work with any fabric softener even the cheapie dollar store ones that are more scent then softness.
Thanks

Cool that is a wonderful idea. I love the smell of the cheap fabric softener that I purchase at Walmart. I will have to try this soon!

To me it seems the simplest of all ideas. By the way if i were you i'd buy one of those garden pressurizer bottle things and use that instead of making it myself. Maybe even a well cleaned out weed killer pump pressurized container but still i think the solution may jot clean like the branded febreeze. Even then, let me try.
