Free 2023 POW/MIA Recognition Day Poster

The 2023 version of a free POW/MIA Recognition Day poster has released. Sign up today in order to receive yours before September and you get to choose from an 11″ x 16″ or 20″ x 30″ sized poster.

Observances of National POW/MIA Recognition Day are held across the country on military installations, ships at sea, state capitols, schools and veterans' facilities. It is traditionally observed on the third Friday in September each year. This observance is one of six days throughout the year that Congress has mandated the flying of the National League of Families' POW/MIA flag. The others are Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day.

Click the blue “order poster” to pull up the form, then select your size. It looks like they've removed the old questions requiring an answer to “how are you going to use this poster.” I guess they finally realized most people put posters on their walls.

Sorry, but this freebie has expired.

However here are five recent freebies still available!

  1. This is NOT the 2021 poster. This was the poster for 2019 and someone has just changed the year. You can go to the DPAA.MIL website to see the actual 2021 poster although I have not been able to find a link to download like they usually had each year.

    • You’re correct – the image shown above is the 2019 poster. We don’t update the images every year on this site.

However, the link in the post goes directly to the page where you can request a 2021 poster. Once they run out of physical posters to mail, they’ll begin offering a link to download it.

    • That’s most likely a false positive from your browser. Chrome didn’t flag it as unsafe for me plus it’s also on a .mil (military) domain that regular people can’t register.
